I bought this jacket after getting drenched in my old Rab waterproof during my ML training. The Arteryx jacket has kept me dry in Scottish heavy rain and wind, and the pit zips are fantastic at keeping me that bit cooler whilst my friends sweat! The best bits have to be the chest pockets above the hip belt/climbing harness line ( I did a lot of searching to find this feature so I can store my map when not in use) and the extra room under the arms (again, something I searched around for as the trend seems to be for a tighter fit which isn't that comfortable - and I'm not a big person!).
A bit heavier and bulkier than other jackets and definitely one to reserve for those cooler mountain days - I'll be using my old jacket for summer showers. It could be just a bit longer at the back as I have to tuck base layers into my waterproof trousers so they don't get wet.

The best that money can buy.
Expensive, but then you get what you pay for.
