Perfect for any season living here in Snowdonia
Reviewed By Christopher, 04 Oct 2013

I've worn my North Face Goretex jacket for years and could not fault it for the constant wet weather I get here in Snowdonia but like many jackets due to my thin physique the size I need for lengh (L) can sometimes "hang" on me. I tried this mount Asgard hybrid on in the shop and never worn a jacket before that fits so PERFECTLY! Its feels so snug & warm and although i'm very tall (6foot+)It fits my body perfectly and the arms too and seems ideal for any "athletic"/"thin" frame.
Its very warm, and ideal for the harsh winters here but when temperature rises you're body is still able to breath and stops you sweating so Its ideal for any season. I've been caught out in a few heavy showers but it keeps me dry, not like other non goretex jackets which tended to get clothing damp underneath.
This is one of the best jackets I've ever worn, recommend it to any one, especially if you're tall and thin like me!!

Snug and slim!
Reviewed By Edgar, 27 Nov 2011

I was looking for a down layer to top the many underlayers I employ against the cold on my travels. The summer is great in Eastern Europe, but the winter is a different experience altogether! Limited to 20 kilos in the bag, each item is scrutinised for its function, weight and worth. Having seen the appearance of the down Jackets I waited until a slimmer version appeared to make it possible to incorporate in my winter wardrobe. Having worked in East Georgia, under the Ural Mountains in January a few years back you stand in awe at the spectacle, then find out you are frozen onto any steel surfaces! I compared the Berghaus to the offering from RAB, although very similar there were three main advantages of this Jacket. Firstly a longer tail to keep the lower back warm, secondly a lack of a wire support in the hood, and thirdly the thinner arms. To some these would be disadvantages, but for my needs these were the clinchers for choosing the Jacket.
The first thing you notice is the great mobility with this garment, it is thin enough for layering without looking like the Michelin man. I wear an outer gore tex Nato ex airforce Jacket and trousers over the underlayers while working away and presently a Jack wolfstone gore tex jacket while at home. Breathability with high wind resistance and water proofing are essential to me.
So with another eternal winter looming, the bag is not so much fatter than last year!
