Not cheap but not a rip-off.
I have used this a lot and have yet to replace the batteries. The modes are great once you remember them.
It's amazing for both use in a tent on dofe or on Scout camps.
It's always in my bag when I go walking and proved amazing when a dofe group I was helping with from my school got lost and I had to navigate them back in the dark!
Brilliant and bright beam!
No faults at all.

Excellent general headtorch
Reviewed By Jonny, 28 Aug 2014

This headtorch is probably the best I've owned, I ended up using it (against all intentions) on the side of tryfan waiting for mountain rescue after getting badly lost. The mountain rescue team could see the torch from their base the other side of ogwen valley and located us, and then escorted us off the mountain. By the end of the rescue this torch was actually giving out most light - the MRT folks were all using petzl RXPs and NAOs which were bright as the sun to start, but after 3 hours were almost dead. This thing is awesome and the brightness and distance LASTS! Once you figure out all the settings etc (in the manual) it'll be your best friend, worth every penny!
