Men's zip off trousers
Reviewed By Carol, 30 Apr 2015

These kiwi zip pants are great for a day out when you're not sure what the weather is going to do. Let's face it, that's most of the time in GB! The zips are small enough not to be uncomfortable when you are walking in them but big enough not to be too fiddly when you're trying to zip the trousers back on again. The elastic waist band is very comfortable. All in all, my husband is very pleased with them and I think he looks great!

Hard wearing and nice elasticated waist

These are great. The elasticated waist means that there's no need real need for a belt. Hard wearing and comfy with a good few pockets with zips to keep things hidden.

Good all round convertible trousers

I knew what I was getting when I purchased these & they have not disappointed. They are comfortable to wear as every day trousers & can quickly / easily convert when the need arises. They'll be perfect for my next trip to Nepal.

Versatile all-rounders

I've owned several pairs and they've always been the same - hard-wearing,comfortable and long-lasting.And the 'secret' pocket is ideal for train tickets on the way to the hills.

Good pair of trousers
Reviewed By Andrew, 02 Jul 2013

I own a few pairs of these and they are a comfortable, hard wearing pair of trousers to wear. The legs detach & reattach easily turning them into shorts and I’ve not experienced problems with the zips or discomfort that others have.

I find that the trousers dry quickly and the waist is part elasticated which adds to the comfort.

There are plenty of pockets on these trousers, the back two pockets are zipped for security. There are two side/hand pockets each side and one is zipped on either side which is very useful. The large cargo pocket on the leg does the job but it is only secured by a poor quality strip of Velcro that is badly sewn on and will only last a few weeks of normal use before it falls off or becomes too worn to be effective.

The problem with the Velcro is also evident on Nosilife trousers, Craghoppers have obviously used a cheaper Velcro over the past couple of years as my trousers from years ago are still going strong and have not had problems with Velcro or stitching.

I’d still recommend these trousers and would have given them 5* but for the poor quality Velcro on the leg pocket.

Excellent water resistancy and comfortable

Great to be able to zip off lower leg bits in warmer weather and great when wind picks up as double thickness really does keep out that chill. Loads of pockets for those bits and pieces and comfortable to boot! Great walking trousers!

Great trouser, zips worked fine for me on Three peaks, and plan to take to Everest next year. A good price compared to others on the market.

Proficent performers
Reviewed By Pete, 19 Sep 2012

These trousers are comfortable, I have never used the unzippable bottoms but can attest to the fact that they do dry quickly, the built in belt is disappointing as it doesn't function that well, if I saw these in the sale I would buy without hesitation

I have had a variety of 'convertibles' over the years, Berghaus, TNF, Mountain Hardwear. I thought I'd try these based on other reviews. I was lucky, they were in a clearance sale at £15! The cut lacks the innovation of other designs, the fabric takes too long to dry and the zips are not robust. I took them on a 2-week trip to Ethiopia and wore them on 2 brief occasions before going back to my TNF trousers. Maybe Noslife ones would be better, but I'll not be trying them.

Good but!

The zip off joint needs to be a little better lined inside as this area rubs against your legs as you walk!

Fantastic, love them.

Wore a pair of these for a, fair weather, three peaks challenge and they were spot on. Water repellent when required (foggy Nevis) and the zip off feature great when temp' climbed faster then me on Snowdon. Have finally worn them out after 4 years and looking to replace with the same product.

Very versatile, good fitting trouser at a reasonable price.
Legs easily detach for summer walking and easy cleaning.
Highly recommend

Waste of money
Reviewed By , 08 Jan 2012

I have had two pairs of these trousers (one I bought, one as a gift) and both suffered from the same problems:
1. The trouser leg zips are not robust enough to last through many zippings/unzippings.
2. There is a rough seam in the crotch area, that gave me the only sore I have ever had on a trekking holiday.

Zip Off is NO Rip Off !
Reviewed By , 23 Jun 2011

I recently purchased two pairs of these trousers, a navy pair and a grey pair. I loved having th ability to remove the lower parts of the trouser legs, which enabled me to ventilate my legs and catch the sun, with little hassle in reversing the process, if the weather turned sour.

Would recommend these to those who will be using them reguarly, as £47.00 is a lot to spend, for a pair of trousers you will not be using much. A good purchase for a D of E particpant who is looking to go from Bronze to Silver then Gold ... these will last the distance !
