These are very effective at preventing your hands from freezing up when it is very cold, just by keeping your wrists warm it makes a huge difference to keeping that blood flow getting to your fingers. That horrible chilly experience of having your sleeves slip up above your wrists is no more. From personal experince, I would recommend these to any raynauds sufferers and to people who are into the outdoors and want to keep access to their fingers whilst staying relatively warm and comfortable in the hand department. I find them particularly useful when rock climbing. A must have - I really do feel the benefit when wearing them.
Not quite as good when wet, they do get quite heavy and take a little while to dry out but even when this happens they are still much better than nothing and keep the wind off at least.
