The MTN 2 Tent from Force 10 is a two person mountaineering tent with a geodesic design for enhanced strength and stability for when the weather takes a turn for the worse. Unusually with geodesic tents you can pitch the MTN 2 either fly first or inner first depending on your situation. You can also use the fly sheet with nothing but the footprint if you are particularly weight concious for your trip.

The bathtub groundsheet is strong and durable to keep you protected from the ground while the Axial Pole System links poles together for fast pitching and further increased strength. The poles are colour coded to ensure you can't go wrong when putting your tent up in a hurry. There are two expedition doors leading to small vestibules which you can use for storage of dirty boots through the night, expedition doors are designed in such a way that should there be lots of snowfall you can open your tent from the top of the door down to the ground to stop any snow getting in your tent at the bottom. All in all this is a great option if you are the kind of people who go out in all weather all year round.

Fantastic Tent
Reviewed By Caroline, 10 Nov 2014

I did not know which tent to buy, this one or the Terra nova Ultra Quaser. Salisbury store ordered both in, we put them up and looked at both.
The pole system on this tent is great, no threading poles through material, poles up and just clip the tent on the poles, very easy and strong.
The flysheet, is very easy to, easier to fix that the Quaser, clips go into the inner sheet by the poles and then a tension strap. great and very quick. even with winter gloves on, tried that. great design, they have really thought about this tent.
The inner is really good, 4 large pockets on the side, and 4 smaller ones in the roof, lots of loops for attaching things. Length is good, i am 6'1" long sleeping bag, no problems, it is wide inside too, lots of space and i can sit up in it and not worry about hitting my head on the roof.
The entrances, same at both ends, pretty much the same as the Quaser, however, I can sit in the tent entrance, normally with bum inside inner and feet out, my head fits under the little hood bit with ease, no bending of head/neck/back. On the Quaser I can not, the entrance is too low and makes it more difficult for me to get in and out.
Because of these small differences, my height, ease of putting up - very quick, lower cost, large inside, it was clearly a very well designed tent, with space, you can also get a footprint - great, cheap too. Materials are good. All round a Fantastic tent.

In the field, 4 nights on Dartmoor, it chucked it down with rain, and strong winds. No problems, did not move, and i slept like a baby all night end of October. I plan to go winter camping in the Lakes and Scotland and needed a full geodesic mountain tent, and this fits the bill beautifully.
Very happy with this tent.
