Product Information

This bundle includes the GB Discoverer map card, which provides 1:50k scale Ordnance Survey Landranger map coverage for the whole of Great Britain, plus Navteq road data to give you turn-by-turn directions to your destination.

The Garmin GPSmap 64s is a handheld navigator that utilises a high-sensitivity GPS and GLONASS receiver with a quad helix antenna to achieve superior reception. It boasts a sunlight-readable colour screen, a three-axis electronic compass, a barometric altimeter and provides wireless connectivity to help you explore and enjoy the wilderness.

The built-in three-axis tilt-compensated electronic compass gives you a reliable heading even when you’re standing still or not holding the device level. The barometric altimeter tracks changes in pressure to pinpoint your precise altitude.

With a quad helix antenna and high-sensitivity GPS and GLONASS receiver, the 64s locates your position quickly and precisely and maintains its location even in heavy cover and deep canyons. You can plot and store up to 200 routes using 5,000 waypoints and it will log up to 10,000 trackpoints. Paperless geocaching is supported with preloaded caches, hints and descriptions.

The 64s comes with a built-in worldwide basemap with shaded relief, and with 4GB of onboard memory and a microSD card slot, you can conveniently download or plug-in further maps.

Tracks routes walked. Can program routes on computer and load in to the unit.
Screen a bit small for serious map reading. button use not very intuitive but you soon pick it up.

The manual and the online user's guide are not well presented. There is a need for clearer instructions in the purchased package. Two telephone calls to Garmin were eventually helpful. I was treated as an incompetent enquirer by one on-line adviser - not a pleasant experience.
I have used other Garmin satnav products for many years!

Strongly built , button operation - NOT touch screen
You can fit a safety lanyard onto a space on the car case moulding - if Garmin had provided a lanyard & I had used it I wouldn't have had to REPLACE my unit when it slipped out of the clip provided!
Some batteries have very short life.
