A versatile leather boot, the Haglöfs Mens Vertigo Hi II GT, works very well for hiking, approaches, via ferrata and scrambling. The midsole uses EVA and a PU heel wedge for good stability, low weight and comfort, and also uses a Gore-Tex lining for maximum weather protection. A star-shaped design in the upper provides the boot with a natural flex action.

Superb lightweight boot
Reviewed By Geoffrey, 03 Aug 2014

I've been a fan of Haglofs footwear since I bought their Vertigo shoe last year, so when I planed to walk part of the Pennine Way last month I thought I would invest in a pair of the boot version. This boot is lightweight yet sturdy enough to cope with rocky ground, and I appreciated the waterproofing on the boggy bits I encountered. Fitted like a glove straight from the box and didn't require any breaking in - I have fairly broad feet and the size 10 was perfect. The insole is a level up from most basic boot insoles, and while it can be heat-moulded to fit I preferred the alternative way of "walking it in" - it really adds to the stability and comfort. Highly recommended, this boot will be with me for a long time as it stood up very well to rigours of a long walk carrying quite a weight.
