Great little stove.

I've had one of these for a couple of years now and its worth every penny. Because of its size and weight its ideal to throw in the bottom of a day sack (with the smallest available gas canister) and bring out for a quick brew on the side of a hill or on a beach if kayaking. It only takes a couple of minutes and you've got a hot cuppa in your mitts ready to admire that view...

The name says it all.

A small compact powerful stove. simple and really effective. A load of use from alps to scottish winter and never let me down. Have a few stoves but this just about does it all.

Great Stove

The pocket rocket is very light and kicks out some serious heat. As long as I am out of the wind it boils up a litre of water in a couple of minutes. Once you are done simply unscrew, fold in the 'fins' alongside the burner and the whole thing slips in to the handy plastic container supplied with the stove. Good lightweight stove, kicks out a lot of heat.

Works great and very durable

The most important things for me when looking for kit is not cost but whether it works and it lasts.
Pocket rocket ticks the boxes. Msr have a knack of producing good solid kit and pocket rocket is no exception. I own two one I use for camping bivi'ing or at the crag the other just sits in the car.

Yes I know if you are out for more than a few days extra canisters can be a pain to carry or resupply but the power of the rocket means often one canister will be more than enough.
No priming no mess you just switch on and light leaving you with a smile on your face watching others faff around with less effective stoves.
It really is a no nonsense food heater and brew maker and most importantly seems to really lasts

5 stars all around

Quite simply a brilliant bit of kit! It's so simple but also very effective! Very small and lightweight. Does exactly what it says on the tin, when you fire it up it looks like a rocket about to take off! Works even better if you get yourself a decent pan set to go with it! For the price you will not get better.

Incredibly small and light weight

The sheer size of (or lack of) this stove makes is it's main feature. You can fit this stove and a small gas canister into a side pocket of a bag - you don't have to dig everything out of your bag to find it. Coupled with a mess tin it takes up very little space, and, crucially, weighs very little too. Perfect for when you get to a campsite and just want a cup of tea - it can boil a litre of water in less than four minutes. For the price I don't think you could beat it.

Does what it says!

I have used this extensively in the alps. Great for bivvis / snow holing. Very light, tough, easy to use with gloves, packs very small and comes in great storage box. Although designed for smaller gas canisters I have found it very stable with a variety of sizes so good for cooking back in the valley too.

Great stove!

Amazing stove. Previously owned an old Camping Gaz stove, which worked ok. This stove however will boil water quicker than my kettle! Very adjustable flame control, light, fits with a primus wind shield.

Would recommend for anyone after a reasonably priced camping stove.

For the price, cannot be beaten!

If you are after a light, compact and easy to use stove, then this is it! Its only 85g & easily fits into my msr kettle/pots due to its compact nature. This thing is always reliable, heats water quickly (the claimed value of 1 litre in under 4 minutes is true) and will easily cook for two. I would probably not use it as a base camp stove for several people as you would burn through fuel though. It appears to fit all of the screw type canisters I have tried and is easily controllable with gloves on.

Downsides?: I haven't found any. Some say this is noisy. True, but I find that it is no louder than alternatives from other manufacturers. The only true downside to these stoves is the fuel if you are using it at high altitude or intense cold ... but you would be using a multi-fuel stove if in these environments! I find that warming the fuel in your sleeping bag before you cook works sufficiently.

This is an excellent, easy to maintain and use stove, which for the price, cannot be beaten.

Superlight and powerful burner

Running on resealable gas cartridges, this little burner is easy to use and puts out a lot of heat, cooking your meal in no time, and genuinely justifying the name "Pocket Rocket". However, make sure you keep an eye on the pot/food, because the narrow opening span of the pan supports do make it a little unstable...
