lightweight and eye-catching rucksack

A rucksack that will catch your eye and demand the attention of passer-bys, whether running, cycling or walking. A truly clever design that maximises compartments with style and quantity. My favourite purchase for 2012.

Multi functional running pack, with good balance design and ventilation. The pack rides close to the torso with very little movement, nice padding on shoulders and cant even feel the waist bands when running,A big thumbs up! There are plenty of storage space and pockets with and secure webbed bottle pockets, there is an added wistle and hand pole attachment. One snag! a key fob attachment would have been a nice feature- apart from that- a realy nice running and day sack from Salomon, purchased from Truro Cotswold outdoors!

Excellent rucksack

My old Karrimor rucksack has seen better days and I bought this last March in Grasmere. It does everything I want of it and more besides. All the pockets are well-designed and accessible, and there are straps everywhere for attaching all things. It's comfortable, and the breathing system on the back is excellent. Can't find any faults so far, and at the price, it was unbeatable.

Brilliant Day Sack

These sacks are great. I have been out in an absolute deluge in the lakes for 4 hours and I can categorically say the rucksack kept completely watertight. It is really light weight and could be used as a waterproof sack or liner for a bigger rucksack too. Marvellous!

Excellent backpack

I had been looking for a compact comfortable daybag that was completely waterproof and this perfectly fits the bill. Ideal for keeping valuables like mobile and camera safe as well as other gear in a downpour. It is lightweight but with a slightly padded back which helps it keep its shape. The chest and waist straps are a nice addition and the fact that the waist strap can be removed is really useful as it is not normally needed and would otherwise get in the way.
I nearly bought the 15 litre version but realised that the 25 litre would be more versatile especially as the elastic cord on the front can be pulled up to compress the bag to the size required. Will easily accomodate everything needed for a day out walking.
All in all very pleased.

Brilliant

I used mine all summer when I was working in Snowdonia National Park. I wasa kayaking and coastering instructor. It kept my git dry when kayaking and when I went kayaking it kept the emerfency rescue kit dry and my lunck on both occasions (very important). I would allways use when when ever working around water and it is very useful when hiking as well

Comfortable and lightweight

I have had this rucksack for 3 months now and it was purchased with lightweight summer wild camps in mind. I have used it in Snowdonia and the Lakes and it does everything as stated. It is very lightweight and very comfortable ... i hardly know its there! Its easy stowage pockets make accessing equipment a doddle. First worried about durability but so far it has been great. Top marks Osprey!

Perfect Lightweight Backpacking Rucksac !

I've used an Osprey Kestrel for 3 years now, however i wanted something lighter, more comfortable and preferably with a ventilated back system. The Exos covers all bases, and as expected the build quality is second to none! The bag itself is very light, and carries very well, it feels like a day bag, but swallows seemingly endless amounts of kit! The back system is incredibly comfortable and you really notice the vented back panel. The straps on the bag are all stretchy and vented, and work exactly as they should! There are so many great features on the bag, but the one which stands out for me, which is often overlooked is the pocket configuration! The pockets on this bag are really well thought out. The front stretch pocket is really handy, and the two mesh side pockets are excellent to get to drinks bottles, but the pocket on the front with the side zip entrance is an incredibly useful pocket which now houses all the kit i need access to quickly ! An excellent bag, which i think is going to provide many years of service !

Excellent light weight pack

An extremely comfortable stable backpack. Really good features, I really like the elasticated front pocket which is useful for stowing all kinds of stuff that you may need quickly, it's even big enough for a winter mountaineering helmet! The stowing system for Treking poles is genius and works really well. The back system makes a huge difference when climbing up hill and really helps prevent the build up sweat. Any sweat that does form is allowed to quickly evaporate once exertion levels return to normal. Your expensive breathable shell is more effcient with this back system! A great pack, highly recommended.

Love this backpack

Really great back pack! Took it up to the lakes a week ago and whilst every one complained about how heavy there pack was and how it was rubbing, the incredibly comfortable back on the osprey and the hip belt meant I couldn't feel a thing! I find wired packs really uncomfortable so this pack is really good for me and it fits a lot in there, seems bigger than a 22l in comparison to others. Slight problem is that if you put anything bulky in the top pocket it can prevent access to the main pouch as the pocket hangs down into this. It would be great if it came with a raincover but the one I purchased seperatley works great but if anyone considers doing this buy the smaller size as it just fits snugly around this osprey, raincovers come up big!

All in all 5 star bag

Great day pack!

I bought this bag for a sponsored long distance walk and found it so comfortable that I invested in the Talon 11 for my shorter walks too. The hip belt is fantastic and by adjusting all the straps etc you can place all the weight on your hips, rather than your shoulders, making it much easier on your back. It made all the difference on the walk.

The bag has a specially designed back to help prevent you sweating, but does not have the higher level of ventilation, where the bag is positioned further away from your back. I prefer this style as I feel much better balanced with the weight nearer my body.

The pack is also very lightweight and has loads of useful pockets to organise your gear. I use the smaller bag all the time for hill walking and the larger one for longer expeditions. I would completely recommend the Talon series.
