All proceeds from the Scooters in the Sahara DVD are donated to the Bansang Hospital Appeal, a charity which funds life saving medical care in The Gambia. Scooters in the Sahara tells the epic tale of 9 men's voyage from the UK down through Spain, Morocco, Western Sahara, Mauritania, Senegal and finally to the Bansang Hospital in The Gambia. The remarkable 4000 mile trek over snow capped mountains and through the Sahara desert was completed on 90cc scooters! Although the journey for the riders ended at Bansang Hospital, for the scooters the work was far from over. They are to be put to use by the doctors: the small hospital serves over 600,000 people and the scooters will prove a vital resource for the staff, enabling them to visit those who cannot make the trip themselves. Telling the warts and all story of the trip, Scooters in the Sahara includes crashes, arguments, touching moments and follows the group from the planning stages, right though the demanding ride. As well as joining the riders on their journey, by buying the DVD you are really making a difference: sales of 1000 copies will rebuild the operating theatre at Bansang; another 2000 and another can be built.
