DMM's Offset nuts -protection when you need it

I spent the weekend in Cornwall, and climbed on a friends rack. I found myself using the DMM offset nuts on every pitch, as they sit snugly in flared or dubious cracks adding to the protection options.
I started putting them at the front of the nuts on my rack, and trying them first, as they were new to me, and they worked very well in lots of different cracks.
They seem a very useful addition to any rack.

perfect for cornish coastal granite

I bought a set of these at the same time as a set of wallnuts and have found them perfect for the flared cracks that are commonly found in the granite cornish cliffs,when I have lent them to climbing partners to lead a route they have regularly found them preferable to thier own more conventional shaped protection.Subsequently they have been used far more often than the same sized wallnuts in my rack.The two sets compliment each other perfectly covering virtually every possible placement that you may find in the size range that they cover.

Little life-savers.

You might not fancy falling onto micronuts, but they can be life-savers when nothing bigger is available and I'd never climb without them as they weigh so little.

well thought out design

well DMM have done it again and brought out another well thought out product, although the coloured faces soon become battered and faded. The indentations are fantastic for those tricky placements where a pebble or something is intent on ruining the placement, but to be honest thats a few and far between situation in my experience.

Excellent pro.

Each one of these covers a range of sizes due to the different orientations they can be placed in. They're excellent alternatives to the more limited standard big nuts.

Solid but simple

These DMM torque nuts are a great peace of kit. The unique shape allows for a good range of placements in those places where a nut or cam wouldn't cut it. The set together covers a really good range that other manufacturers would cover with 6-8 cams instead, so with these you potentially need to carry less! Winner!

Great for beginners

These were my first set of nuts and they have never let me down. Give or take there just as good as other nuts, and for the money your saving it doesn't matter that there not colourful they do the job.

very good first set of nuts !

bought these a long time ago from the Harrogate store and have had loads of use out of them ! they take a battering and seem to fit into all kind of placements, the wires haven't frayed and the only damage is scratches. i would recommend these to anyone one starting out as they are a solid investment! the only downside is that wild country don't do the larger sizes in silver but that's just me being petty !
