Sleeplight 1800 Sleeping Bag

The warmest of Lifeventure's Sleeplight bags: sleeping bags designed for the world traveller. A rating of -3°C makes the Sleeplight 1800 a 2/3 season sleeping bag: in other words, a very versatile bag for a wide range of conditions. As well as its insulation properties, the Sleeplight boats Lifeventure's EX3 treatment, which combats bedbugs, mosquitoes and bacterial build-up. Intended for overseas travel, a bag that helps to see off the mozzies is useful for Scottish summer camping too! Also useful for temperate climes as well as tropical conditions is the waterproof stuff sack which, as well as protecting your bag, can be inflated or filled with clothes and used as a pillow.

Amazing all year down bag

I received this bag as a birthday gift and I've never been so happy with a gift in my life.

I'm a scout leader and as such go camping at least once a month and this bag has not let me down. I've had it in temperatures well below 0 numerous times and never realised how cold it was until I arose in the morning. I've also used it on a warm spring/summers eve and I did not overheat.

All in all this is a great bag for anyone who needs a good all year bag that will keep you warm in winter under canvas and in not cook you in summer

Best sleeping bag ever used

I am using this sleeping bag on my silver and gold duke of edinburgh and it is by far the best for it's price. It is easily compressible, perfect size to fit into a rucksack; although, a nicer case for the sleeping bag would be better to fit. For it's size, it is also very light, good enough for a mountain hike or a week or two expedition. Although the comfort lever is at -2°C, it can be slept in colder conditions, with minimal discomfort. Initially, it would be better being slightly wider, but again, it does give you warmth when needed, and there is also less heat escapes than some of the other sleeping bags. The head on the sleeping bag has a very good comfortable, small pillow (attached to the head) that wraps up nicely inside the bag. Overall it is a great product, definitely worth the price and can easily deal with any of the UK's and most other countries conditions!

Fantastic Down bag for 6 footers

Spent a lot of time researching down bags with Pertex / DWR outers to protect the down from damp.
Decided on the RAB in the end as I could try before I buy in my local very helpful stores (Chichester & Hedge End).

The bag length is 220cm, and I am 196cm tall. The RAB point of Sale indicates bag is suitable for a person max length of 188cm, so I was worried bag would be too short.

However I can fit below the shoulder baffle quite comfortably, so this bag works for me.

Lovely warm soft deluxe feel inside the bag, as if I am home in bed, not outside in the cold damp on some distant hill in the middle of no where (Lake District April 2012)

Also fairly light and packs doen into a very compact size. Worked very well with the Mountain Equipment Helium 3.8 self inflating mat I bought too, on special offer.

£280 for a sleeping bag - believe me it's worth it

I was looking for a super-lightweight sleeping bag that also had a good temperature range on it, so i chose this bag. I just wanted it for general trips so was a little bit apprehensive about spending £280 but after a few months, i have to say its the best purchase i have made!

This bag packs so small and is so light! It vanishes into the compression sack when you pack it away! The down and materials are really soft and warm making it really comfortable. All the little features like the adjustable neck baffle, zip baffle and elevated feet baffles really help to make it a fantastic bag. You do not appreciate it until you use it.

Its waterproof too! I accidentally spilled some water onto it and it just dripped off!

The only negative i have is that as it is made of down you cannot really leave it in its compression sack for more then 24-48hrs without compromising the downs warmth.

Overall, i am extremely happy with this bag - it is a great investment!

Mega lightweight and compact piece of kit ...

Been using this for just under a year. It has seen usuage in the UK/SE Asia and out in a desert environment. Love it for its small packdown size and the fact that to date I have never frozen or overheated. It falls into the category of just right - add a liner/bivy bag to falling temperaure or just unzip to remain cool in hotter places.

Great buy sleeping bag

Bought this on the recommendation of the lady in the Cotswold shop who has one. Mainly to be used by my children who do scouts / DofE etc. Just been used by one of them in Snowdonia - rained solidly, sleeping in old tents with no sown in ground sheet, but they were 'dry & warm as a bone'. Packs down incredibly small especially as I replaced the sac it comes in with a lifeadventure valveless one. - Because the lady in Cotswold said the supplied sac isn't completely waterproof! Haven't given it a 5 star as I've not used it.

Not as warm as I'd hoped

Being a complete and utter cold-arse I was lured by the -18 boast on the Lamina 0. However, I have struggled to stay warm in this bag. I am female, 5ft 3" and relatively small and slim. I was out in the tent last night 25/03/2012 in the Peak District, where there was a frost. Having recently purchased a 2" thick therm-rest type mat, I was extremely disappointed with the overall performance. I slept, fully clothed, in jeans, socks, RAB micro-hooded fleece and an OR jacket and was still terribly cold. Now admittedly I am a very cold person, but my other half slept snuggly in his (old) Firewalker 3. I could be unduly, harshly judging this bag, and maybe I'm sleeping in a man's bag and not a women's specific, therefore not generating much heat, could pose a problem for me.

Overall the bag is of good quality, although I struggle with the zip as it always catches. It's light-weight, and I expect if anyone else slept in it, they would say it's toasty warm.

Warming the cockles

My much loved sleeping bag had finally given up on me after many seasons, so I purchased this bag with a view to UK, late Autumn/early winter backpacking and mountain walking. Throwing it in at the deep end, I spent last weekend wild camping on the Brecon Beacons around Crib Goch and Pen y Fan. The sleeping bag performed magnificently with good, fast and efficient warming up and the baffles and drawstrings retaining that hard won warmth. Despite chilly temperatures there were absolutely no issues with the bag, in fact I had to unzip and allow some heat to escape it performed so well. If there is any point to be made it would be that as a (cough) slightly larger gentleman, the close fit may not be ideal for all, but a quick test on the floor in the shop will show if it's for you or not. All in all, an excellent value bag that is definitely fit for purpose.

Warm four season bag

A great value four season bag, considering synthetic material it is both light and small in terms of pack size in comparison to others at this price level. With extra stow away pockets, a double zip allowing for ventilation and tailored to fit perfectly while optimising warmth. The addition of drawstrings on the hood and over the shoulders eliminates any chance of heat loss, this bag gives you the ability to take on sub-zero conditions and come out on top, well worth it.

Warm and Comfortable

This is a great sleeping bag, very warm and great for expeditions because it is nice and light. It is very comfortable - I can only really sleep in a bed to be comfortable but this sleeping bag offers warm and comfort due to the down feathers. Because it is down you can’t get it wet or it wouldn’t keep you warm. To make sure this does not happen i would suggest to get a dry bag and put it into that which should stop the sleeping bag from getting wet or damp, however if you do get it wet it is very fast drying. This is a great product at a great price, highly recommendable
