Fantastic all round lightweight trousers!

I bought these to replace some heavier- stretchlite trousers for the hills. I was not dissapointed at all. Very ocmfortable, the fleece lined waist and pockets are a nice touch.

Very comfortable to wear and walk in- the DIamond seat is superb and the quality and finishing touches such as the zips make it all Mountain Equipment should be.

Very happy with this purchase and as such will stick with Mountain Equipment in the future.

I recommend these to anyone who likes to puruse outdoor activities, climbing, hiking etc. I am not sure if they will suit to deep winter conditions though- more a 3 season pant.

Guide Pant

Without doubt the best all round outdoor trouser you can buy - I bought a second pair of these because after 2 1/2 years of abuse (Walking/rock climbing/mountainering - going to the pub!) My first pair ar just starting to look a bit tatty, although I still use them for boulering. I will now doubt buy a 3rd pair. They have a water resistant coating, are very stretchy and come in short leg sizes - Ideal if you are a bit verticaly chalenged like me. - I strongly recomend these pants

very good

these trousers are great for mountaineering, hill walking and maybe even climbing. The trousers are built with a stretch woven fabric very robust and resists water very well and also the tapered fit at the bottom stops the trousers flapping around at the bottom of your boots and you hardly get any mud on your trousers due to it flicking up and flapping around.

Nice cut and comfortable.

People often seem to place too much faith in softshell pants - they are not waterproof and do wet through in anything other than light rain - but they are comfortable all-round trousers. These have a nice cut and the stretch makes them ideal for scrambles and climbs.

Excellent soft shell pant.

I bought these trousers after trying on many soft shell trousers. I find the fit of these trousers to be far better than any other. I have used the these trousers so far at indoor climbing walls and a recent weekend in Snowdonia. These trousers are extremely comfy, and cope very well with wind and rain. I would definitely buy these again.

Excellent walking trousers

I have had these a while now and have found them to be excellent all round. They are lightweight, comfortable and dry very quickly. I would highly recommend them over more expensive trousers.

ESSENTIAL - you should buy these trousers !

I write this review as a professional Buyer (of clothing) & as someone who has survived a fire.

I have been left with just the contents of my pockets after a fire consumed all my personal possessions. God forbid anything similar should happen to you, but, if you ever find yourself in an emergency situation these trousers are the best available.

The reason I am so enthusiastic about them is the pockets zip up. This makes it harder for someone to pick your pockets & retains your items if you sit down or fall over, for example.

You can keep your keys in one set of pockets & your credit/debit card(s), your cash & 'phone in another pocket, for instance.

Should the worst ever happen, you would have all the essentials to hand.

So, for this reason I give the Ibex Pant (from Mountain Equipment) 5-stars. I have put my money where my mouth is & bought three pairs.

My only quibble is they have a large white company logo on the left leg (which I would rather do without - I prefer subtle branding), but, all in all, it's a minor quibble with an excellent product.

I urge you to prepare for the worst & buy these pants.

Great Trousers for Walking

Very impressed with the material these trousers are made from. It's excellent at keeping the wind and rain out. It's also quick drying. My only quibble would be the ankle width. This is very narrow and won't go over the top of my boots. They have a zip adjuster, time will see if constantly using this puts any strain on the zip. I think the trousers would be suitable for walking in all but the hottest weather too, making them a good all year round option.

The ultimate softshell trouser

I wanted these trousers for ages and at such a good price I had to buy them! And what a buy they are. Fantastic stretch material gives a great fit but allows for plenty of movement so they are great for walking, climbing or mountaineering. the wider bottoms can accommodate all boot types and allow for over-gaiters easily. the belt is also a great touch. regardless of how well they perform they also look great and are such high quality. they will perform well in a light shower and dry very quickly. if you are looking for a softshell trouser that ticks all the boxes then look no further!

Just fantastic

I purchased a pair of these last winter (£95) and decided to go skiing in them - I never had to use my very expensive ski pants! They looked really cool on the slopes, the apex jacket will complete next seasons ski outfit. Oh by the way I have also used for heavy hill walking all over UK and I have just ordered my third pair!!

One little fact - I am really 38 inch waste but I only need 36 in these which makes me feel even better.

just fantastic for Trekking

just wow i am imprested with them, i use them from day to day and at work there that comfortable. i wore them for doing Hadrian’s wall and various other long distance walks. the sewn-in belt is good it dose not slip and is quick to release and fasten, the zips are grate they don't jam or get stuck. no wind will get throw them and they keep light rain off rally well and a nice fetcher is the draw cord at the cuffs of these trousers, over all rally good. I would recommend them, and I thank your NE staff for helping me with expert advice they give me.
