Hot climate pants

The meridian convertible pants are the thinnest per of pants north face make. They have a good fit around the whaist, around the knees the sawing can rub the back of the knee. The have a good pair of zippers and the fin fabric gives a good comfort in hot weathers. The pants come soft but after a few laundries they become stiff and less comfortable. They are very lite weghit and are good for bag backers.

For conclusion they are good per of trousers when bought in one of the store sales. They give good comfort for hot weather but they worn out faster then expected.

Superb Trousers

I managed to get some of these while they were on sale and I liked them so much I immediately ordered another pair! They are very lightweight but still keep the chills out. Good quality manufacture and have an abundance of pockets as well as having both belt loops and a waist draw cord. They also have a leg roll up feature as well as being convertible. Excellent stuff!

ultimate alround trousers

Now owned these trousers for a year and they are still going strong. Great build quality results in them being as good today as they were when bought. They are a very good pair of trousers for a modern life, use them around town and beyond. they never fail.

Fantastic Trousers

Real nice fit and the look great on the hills and traveling.
I zip of and wear the shorts 24/7 as they are that good. When the wind picks up just zip the legs on using the fantastic colour coded guide.
Nice to have thigh pockets that are actualy on the thigh!
Would be better to have zipped rear pockets though.
Wore these the other day for a bike ride and got chain oil over one of the pockets. Got home and scrubbed it right off and left no marks!

Good but Baggy

Good points = lightweight, tough, big pockets. Bad points = too baggy around the legs (I have big legs), material is quite rough. All round pretty good trousers but I find them annoying when wet as they are just too baggy and feel uncomfortable.

Nice pants!

Bought these for walking and they're really comfy, lightweight and easy to change to shorts. Agree with other comment about belt - noticed that after they've been washed the belt sticks :(

Nice pair of converts

Really useful set of trousers that are obviously built to last. The material is rugged and treated with a water proofing agent that makes the water bead off. Use them predominately when I got out scrambling and they do the job nicely. Colour coded zips help when you're putting the legs back on. The included belt isn't the best and can come undone easily, but is very easily replaced. The pockets are a good size too and can fit the essentials in them nicely.

Good but!

The zip off joint needs to be a little better lined inside as this area rubs against your legs as you walk!

Fantastic, love them.

Wore a pair of these for a, fair weather, three peaks challenge and they were spot on. Water repellent when required (foggy Nevis) and the zip off feature great when temp' climbed faster then me on Snowdon. Have finally worn them out after 4 years and looking to replace with the same product.

Very versatile, good fitting trouser at a reasonable price.

Waste of money

I have had two pairs of these trousers (one I bought, one as a gift) and both suffered from the same problems:
1. The trouser leg zips are not robust enough to last through many zippings/unzippings.
2. There is a rough seam in the crotch area, that gave me the only sore I have ever had on a trekking holiday.

Zip Off is NO Rip Off !

I recently purchased two pairs of these trousers, a navy pair and a grey pair. I loved having th ability to remove the lower parts of the trouser legs, which enabled me to ventilate my legs and catch the sun, with little hassle in reversing the process, if the weather turned sour.

Would recommend these to those who will be using them reguarly, as £47.00 is a lot to spend, for a pair of trousers you will not be using much. A good purchase for a D of E particpant who is looking to go from Bronze to Silver then Gold ... these will last the distance !
