I like these

I got these a couple of weeks ago, just in time for this terrible weather!
I can't help wondering if Cotswolds have maybe mixed up the product features with something else, though. There are no elasticated, adjustable braces that come with these (but I think they would be a welcome addition!) and no slanted hip to thigh ventilation zips, this sounds more like the Rando Q pant?
Anywhoo...these pants have a really nice fit - though they are quite long. I'm a big fan of Haglof's Proof membrane - made from reycled materials, it almost matches Gore Tex in terms of all of the numbers, but has a lovely stretchy quality about it. This is a really nice feature to have, especially in waterproof trousers where you're moving all the time. I haven't felt clammy in these pants like you expect to in waterproofs not made from eVent or Gore Tex, so they must be breathing well.
The fabric feels very robust, and you can tell by the reinforced insteps that these pants are designed to last.
The watertight zips that run right up to the hip are two-way, so you can ventilate in the spells between downpours. Since they zip up so far, they're dead easy to pull on and off, even over big boots.
There are also some little ankle gaiters which you can tighten with an elastic cord, they'll come in handy in the snow.
The trousers sit at the top of your hip bones, so quite high - which makes me fairly sure that they're not going to be rubbed down by a heavy rucksack, though I think it's always good to have some elasticated braces for technical trousers. Despite this, they do have a good belt on them, but the buckle is a little fiddly if you've got gloves on.
All in all, I really do like these trousers - though I haven't quite found a use for those thigh pockets yet. I love the Proof membrane - it's a really great choice for trousers, where an extra bit of stretch is always nice to have.

Brilliant piece of clothing when you need it.

These trousers are fantastic, I bought them to do the York 3 Peaks Challenge. When the weather turned nasty these trousers were brilliant. I was dry and warm without the moisture hanging around inside the trousers. They are quite pricey but well worth the cost.

not happy at all.

I bought these trousers and they broke on the second time i wore them, keeping in mind that it was about the 15th hour they were being worn: as a 16 year old student these overtrousers already cost me a fortune, and to fix them will be costing me basically the same amount as they first costed.
Yes, fair enough, i was sliding down a small snowy slope, but there is now a 20cm rip right in the back, and even though these trousers are not meant to be for sliding down small hills, paying 50pounds is ridiculous for it being such a cheap quality.

loud trousers will keep you warm and dry

Had these for years and my other half has the big man's version. They have washed great and no issues with wear at all. The best thing about these pants are the fit. I find it imposible to get trousers of any kind which don't expose my kidneys and I have therefore resorted to polartech tights or 3/4 leggings when on mountains: these pants complement them perfectly when the weather dictates the need for wind/waterproofing or added insulation. On warm but changable days I open the zips from hip to knee and let air through, on chilly days, I have felt warm and cozy. Great value but you'll never be able to sneak up on anyone or anything due to the sweep-sweep sound they make but in a storm, who cares?

Excellent-quality product

Very good quality, self-coloured lining stitched into the outer throughout. No pockets but zips open at top and bottom so can open to access trouser pockets under the overgarment. Generously-sized, good leg-length, as published 31”, especially as body-length is generous at 10¼” below the waistband (size 14R). Rolls up small, about the size of a half litre bottle of water, weighs 398gr (14oz). Machine-washable at 30deg in non-bio detergent (but a quick wipe with a damp cloth will suffice). Competitively priced at £50.

Light, Durable and completely waterproof

I have had my paclite overtrousers for nearly 5 years now. They are still going strong even after a very wet Coast 2 coast crossing last year. They are incredibly lightweight and I was concerned that they would rip or tear easily. I am careful when putting them on not to stand on them but they have stood up to all I have thrown at them. I do have a friend who did manage to rip their's but this was due to snagging them on barbed wire! You do have to make sure also that the zip doesn't snag when putting on or taking off.

Ideal for summer

Excellent to pack just in case, size of grapefruit when packed. Full length zip gives good venting on warm days, good length so long enough when biking without leaving ankles exposed. So far proving very durable too.
