Fantastic all round Waterproof

After buying this at Christmas, I have hardly taken it off! I was primarily bought as a quality waterproof to be taken on a World Challenge Expedition to Argentina in the summer of 2012 but seems to have become a second skin over the past few weeks. Firstly, I must say that the image of the jacket on the site does itself no favours! It not only a good looking jacket, but also a perfect fit. The concealed toggles in all areas allow for person customisation of the fit but I have had no need to adjust anything. The zips are spot on and I like the fact that the second main zipper almost locks into place at the bottom of the jacket, so it doesn't slide up like on other jackets. The material itself is also extremely compact and lightweight, yet has the feel of quality that you'd expect to find on a more heavy duty waterproof. It is perfect for carrying large, heavy rucksacks and hasn't once felt like it was struggling to resist the large strain put upon it. I am also impressed with the wear on the material. After numerous scrapes against walls and falls on my mountain bike I have found not one scratch... A remarkable feat! The performance of this jacket is second to non, and for the quality it provides it comes at a remarkable price! Forget your high fashion 'Rabs' and 'Hagloffs', when it comes to waterproofs, the Berghaus Velum Jacket should be your first stop!

Lightweight & Colourful

As a huge fan of RAB jackets it took a lot of convincing to switch to another brand but I have no regrets. Lightweight and durable this jacket is a fantastic addition to my kit - it is nice to have a high quality jacket in a nice bright colour making me easily recognisable on the mountains. I would recommend this jacket for any serious walker/mountaineers.

Looks good but disappointing quality.

I'm a fan of Berghaus clothing however, this is probably the most disappointing item of theirs that I have bought. It looks good and is quite warm but it is continually losing a lot of feathers and down, which too easily poke through the outer material.

no 1 outdoor

once you have this jacket, you can not choose any other when you are leaving home in winter. this jacket is so light and comfortable not to forget its warmth and yet it looks cool on anybody.

Better than Chocolate!

After dropping numerous unsubtle hints, I received this jacket for a Christmas present from my partner. I have been unable to take it off since! It's perfectly warm, comfortable, and feels really well made. Even the pockets feel warm! Oh yes, there are no calories involved!

Excellent vest

I've bought a few different vests over the years and was looking to add a black one to my collection. My first stop was North Face and I was originally going in-store to buy a Nuptse 2 vest in black. Then I saw the offer on the Manaslu and thought I'd try it on. Firstly, the material has a nicer feel compared to the North Face vest and it is not as bulky but just as warm. The fit is snug and the soft finish fabric on the collar is also a nice touch. I'm really pleased with this purchase and with a reduction of £40 it represents really good value!

Excellent jacket

Great insulating jacket keeps you warm on those freezing cold nights standing outside watching football for example. I found it very cosy and kept me very warm. Also great for wearing when hiking very good source of insulation kept me warm but not too sweaty. Just a great all round jacket. I Highly recommend it to anyone who would stand outside to watch sport or for an extra layer when hiking. Well worth £70!! Buy it when its cheap people.

Comfortable warm vest

I was originally going to buy a TNF Nupste vest but when I tried on this because of the offer price I was very impressed. The lining material is very comfortable and it has a good high collar also with a soft lining. The chest pocket is also useful and if you can get one at the offer price I'd highly recommend it.

Perfect Choice!

Very warm vest

I was looking for The North Face vest but my size was out of stock. I decided then to try Berghaus Vest and I have to say that it was a really good choice. It is a very good quality and warm vest with deep pockets and fit perfectly with my Berghaus fleece. Highly recommended vest!!!
