I cannot rate the jet boil too highly. when walking in cannada on a seven day hike between two people we used less than 100ml of gas. it was so fast and efficient I wonder whether it is faster that my kettle at home. I think it's the only stove people will have in the future.

Mega bit of kit so far but will wait to see how long the ignition system works on this one as on the old one it broke rather quickly! All good so far though.

Simply genius

This is the best cooking system I have ever used. I have owned several different fuel cookers and this tops them all. It is so quick and easy to assemble and use that you can have a litre of boiling water in a couple of minutes. The storage method is great, with the ability to store a small gas container inside, reducing space much more effectively than any other cooking system I have used. Great for noodles, soup, water and ready meals. Jetboil also have a few great accessories that are well worth a look if you get this product. The heat gauge is also a nice feature.

A must have for outdoor enthusiast!

I bought one of these over a year ago and it is without a doubt the best headtorch i have ever owned! At first it seems quite expensive at £40 but believe me it is well worth it compare to cheaper versions. The first thing i love about this headtorch is that it is so comfortable. If your wearing a headtorch for a long time it is very important that it is comfortable and this really is. I used to own a headtorch that had a battery pack at the back of the head, but the problem was it kept sagging and was irritating to where. It is comfortable for two reasons. Firstly, it is extremely lightweight meaning that after a while you forget that you are wearing it. Secondly, it is very simplistic. There is just one elasticated band that fits snuggly round your head, tight enough to make it secure, but not squeezing your head, and the rest is contained in a small box at the front. There is also a very simple buckle on the strap which makes it easy to tighten or loosen. The one band strap, also means that the straps cannot get tangled, so when you really need it you do not have to try and untangle the straps, especially in the dark. This is a huge benifit over my previous torch. The torch packs down really small. The strap weighs hardly anything and the front box is the size of a small matchbox and is not heavy either. It fits very easily into small pockets etc, without weighing them down. It runs of 3 triple a batteries which are easily accesed and changed. The simplicity of the design does not only make it comfortble to wear. It also makes it extremely to use. There is just one button at the front to switch it on/ off and changing brightness. I also like that after 5 sec of being on the next time you press it, it turns it off without going through all the other functions first. It also remembers what mode you had it in last which comes in really handy. The simplicity, also makes it look modern and fashionable to wear. Even after all of this, the headlamp still beats other torches at brightness. I have a handheld maglite and it is even brighter than that, and packs to about 1/3 of the size. It produces a clear white light of 50 lumens without any dark spots, which is perfect for most outdoor activities. The only down side is that the light cannot be focussed, but this is not to be expected on a headlamp. One of the things that amazes me is the battery life when you consider how bright it is and that it only runs of 3 triple a batteries. It lasts a solid 40hrs no problem - amazing!

Great value choice for use in dark and low light

Consider lighter options but they do not have the beam intensity to be useful in poor light conditions or in the dark. This also has red light for map reading, avoiding blinding your partner when you are looking at them, and for emergency warnings from distance.

Comfortable and Powerful!

Great torch. Batteries last for months (using the torch very often) with little fade of power. Settings for every need and leaves your hands free to cook, navigate, or even get in bed!

Fantastic long lasting torch

I've had one of these for the past 5 years, and it has performed fantastically without a fault. It was one of the most valuable pieces of kit I took on an expedition to the Himalayas, and the batteries last forever on this torch. Would recommend this as the best all round torch, and it offers great value, as it will last years.

BRIGHT!

This thing is definitely bright enough, if you want to either use it for a safety light whilst running, to make sure you're not going to trip on something, or for cycling (it has a flash mode) or for general camping (it has a dim mode). I even got to use it with my friend who has a telescope, as it has a red light mode, which won't affect your night vision ability! Great headtorch! And you can strap it to your handlebars!

Best torch on the market!

Construction: The P7 is made of machined anodized aluminium, which makes it extremely strong whilst still being lightweight at just over 6oz. As soon as you pick it up it feels sturdy and looks very professional. The main body has a handgrip engraved into it, which prevents it from slipping out of your hands - however sometimes dirt gets stuck in the groves. Unfortunately, after a years rough usage everyday mine does have a few scratches, but it still looks brilliant. There is a hole in the tailcap to allow the included lanyard to be attached, which comes in handy. The tailcap can be unscrewed to reveal the inside; the torch comes apart into two pieces; the main body and tailcap, which has the 4 by AAA battery carrier attached. The connecters are 24k gold to maximise energy transfer. I love how the batteries are not loose and there are no springs or spare bulbs to be lost, like with maglites. The torch is water repellent but no dunkable due to several holes on the torches head, which help heat sinking. The torch is 16cm long. The light: The torch uses a Cree Q4 Bin LED, which is extremely powerful and has an extremely long lifetime, which should not run out – meaning you do not need to carry spare bulbs! It kicks out an amazing beam, which is so bright it blanks out other people torches. I was truly stunned by its brightness – it is the best out of any torch I have ever purchased, especially for its size! The light is turned on/off by a 3 stage forward click button on the tailcap. Press once for high power, twice for dim, and three times for off. One downside is that you have to go through all the modes to turn the torch off, I would rather after so many seconds for the torch to turn off with the next press, like on petzl head torches. Focussing the light is very easy; just push the head of the torch forward. The beam has no dark spots! When focussed it will go about 200m. When left dormant for a while the head does have a tendency to stick, but once moved it is fine again. The torch also has a fantastic battery life; I use mine most days and only change the batteries every few months. Obviously, the older the batteries the dimmer the torch. Pros: Great size, extremely robust and no small bits that can break, looks professional, extremely bright! Cons: Not fully waterproof, have to go through all settings to turn off, mine has a few scratches after a year of use Also included… In this package as well as getting the P7, which is worth the price alone!, you also get a LED Lenser P3 for free! It is exactly the same as the P7, just a lot smaller – about the size of a maglite solitaire but 10 times as bright. This comes on really handy to put in a jacket pocket or on a keyring. For such a small torch it is very powerful, about the same as the standard maglite. A great little bonus! You also get a black fabric belt pouch for the P7 (not for the P3) that allows you to carry the torch on your belt. Personally, I do not like it because it makes the torch bulky to carry, and it is not the best of quality. But hey it’s free! Overall: I cannot rate this torch highly enough! It is extremely powerful for its size and easily the brightest pocketable torch available on the market! The first time I picked it up I was amazed at how professionally it was and incredibly bright! I love how when opened up it is just two parts; main body and tail cap with battery carrier fixed to it. There are no extra springs, bulbs or batteries, which can fall out and be lost or broken when fumbling with it in the dark. You will not be disappointed. I know the torch is expensive but I would much rather pay a bit more for a good quality, and very powerful torch, that will last. It beats maglite and petzl lights by a mile! Plus you get a free LED Lenser P3!
