Cycle Touring Club
CTC has a long and illustrious history of working for travelling, recreational and utility cycle users. Founded in 1878 as the Bicycle Touring Club and subsequently re-named the Cyclists' Touring Club, CTC are prominent in the world wide network of cycling, motoring and tourism organisations, many of whom based their services on CTC’s. Today CTC has around 60,000 members encompassing all ages and types of cyclists with elected representation at national and local level backed by a professional staff. The Juniper Trust’s tenet is: to work in a low-impact, sustainable way to support the poorest communities, particularly children, listening to community needs in the developing world and working in equal partnership. The Trust’s concept is 'trickle up' rather than 'trickle down' aid, which will benefit communities at grassroots level, enabling their development in a way which they feel is appropriate. For several years, this work has been greatly assisted by Cotswold Outdoor's very generous donation of a percentage of KE Adventure Travel client sales to the Juniper Trust. This has helped projects such as the Lingshed Hostel in Ladakh, the Ardasha Bal Vikas Kendra School For Handicapped Children in Nepal, the Tibet Vision Project and the Solar Lights Project, both in Peru and India.

BSES (British Schools Exploring Society)
Based at the Royal Geographical Society, BSES Expeditions (The British Schools Exploring Society) was founded in 1932 by a member of Captain Scott’s final Antarctic Expedition of 1910-13. Each year young people aged 16-23, from different schools, universities and many other walks of life, join together to take part in valuable adventure and environmental research projects in challenging areas of the world from the heights of the Himalayas to the heat of the Arabian desert, and from the valleys and glaciers of the Arctic to the lakes and rivers of the Amazon. These projects are designed to teach the young people about the host environment, culture and wildlife whilst delivering worthwhile and necessary results for local and UK academic and charitable bodies. Led by experts drawn from a host of professions such as universities, teaching and the armed forces, all the expeditions aim to help in the development of young people through the challenge of living and working in remote and testing areas of the world. BSES Expeditions is a small and personal organisation organising only a handful of expeditions each year. Opportunities exist on month-long summer expeditions for Young Explorers aged between 16 and 20. Those over 18 can gain leadership experience through our Arctic and Desert gap year expeditions.

As a dedicated in-house team, Care's priority is to be as cost-effective and professional as possible. That means participants can enjoy the physical challenge of our events in the knowledge that your money is going exactly where it is needed most - to our development programmes. By taking part in a CARE Challenge event in 2010, you can help CARE beat this year's record fundraising total of over £1million and help keep CARE Challenge going from strength to strength. So far, more than 1,500 companies and a total of over 15,000 participants have taken part in oCARE's events. 2% of the income raised is donated to relevant projects including footpath restoration and offsetting fuel emissions.
