With a women's specific adjustable back system, this entry level pack has a host of useful features. Hipbelt pockets allow stashing of snacks without having to go into the main compartment and the trekking pole attachments makes easy work of where to store the poles. The zip divider helps separate wet and dry clothes, very handy on multiday hikes when the weather isn't so good.

Womens' Rucksack with great flexibility

This rucksack was purchased for my daughter for DofE Gold Award and is very flexible indeed. She being of only small stature, the rucksacks' adjustments were such that it could easily accommodate her build, as well as it might a more taller and broader person. Its design enabled the all important correct fitting so she could concentrate on the job in hand whilst the weight distribution didn't compromise her posture or unduly affect her performance. Some good concepts with easy stash areas close to hand. The rain hood was very effective though the rain can penetrate down the back between the sac and the wearer with a heavy deluge, but we've yet to see a sac that this doesn't apply to and the answer to this is a waterproof liner. Thoroughly recommend this rucksack and award 4/5 only on the basis that 5 star awards have to be very very special indeed.

Good rucksack

I ordered this rucksack for a short training expedition and as good as it was, I had big problems with fitting it. the first day I wore it out it was very painful but by then end of the week it was pretty good, the only other criticism I can make is the the straps are quite hard and can leave burns where they've been rubbing. Other than that the compartments are all good and useful and I like the two very small pouches on the waist straps. Good rucksack overall but takes a lot of fitting and getting used to.

Reliable and comfortable

I do a fair amount of walking with these types of rucksacks and this product is by far the best. Its very comfortable and fully adjustable to find the best fit. Also I've fallen on it a lot and its come out with only a few marks. Its great value for the price and I would definitely recommend the product.

A great day bag

This is a perfect dual-purpose bag. It enables me, as a keen photographer and walker to take all I need for the day. Its extra length enables me to pack rain-gear at the bottom and my SLR on top, I can even fit in an extra lens. The bag is well-designed, nicely padded and very comfortable to carry. The front pocket has useful sections for all the little camera accessories and there are external mesh pockets for water etc. A great fit-for-purpose back-pack and very reasonably priced too.

Good bag but strange fit

I had high hopes when I took it out the packaging, but I found the shoulder straps to be really close to each other and they therefore rubbed against my neck. I tried adjusting all straps to varying degrees but the fact remains that the neck opening is just too narrow.

Nice and Lightweight

I have the smaller ND22 and although it is fine, I do not like the pole holder system as they flop down at top. I have had to add and a small velcro strap higher up and it is attached to the loop at zip end on top zip. Also the bottom pole strap will not take poles with the snow thingies on or with ferrules so have added an elastic strap in same place. I have also seen bags with pole holders on front so the poles go under your arm and you can stow them more easily during a walk when they get in the way.

No bag is perfect but apart from the pole issue it is a good bag. The bottles remain inside the elastic pockets even when bending down fully. The front zip pocket is great for bits and pieces. ~Fits very well and hardly know it is there even when full.

best impulse buy this year..

Fabulous lightweight rucksack in a lovely bright and visible colour. as soon as I put this rucksack on it was immediately comfortable. The side pockets are a great size to put almost anything in, but best for things like my hat that I put on and off every 20mins! there are not many pockets but thats great cause then you cant lose things and it means there or no zips to leave open or break etc.

I love it, except...

for the pole attachment system. This does NOT work well with my walking pole. The large loop at the bottom is far too wide to be of use. I take the ferrule off my pole and stick the pointed end through the smaller loop and that works well, but the Velcro strap at the top comes undone too easily and even when it holds, it holds too loosely and the pole waggles about. I am going to thread some lengths of cord through the binding and use cord locks instead.

The best comes in small packages

Bought this little sack with the help of the team in Manchester. Have used it for skiing, walking and scrambling; it is now my main day sack. It has survived many a big tumble on snow and ice and doesn't show a mark. The side pouches; front-slit and top pockets are perfect for storing the camera, Muesli bars, sun-glasses, solar block etc. My walking axe is a bit heavy for it, though it carries two walking poles easily.
Its a neat ergonomic fit on ones back and doesn't cause any sweating. Just my age does that!
I thought it may have been a bit small, my Winter sack is 30L, but it can carry my waterproof jacket, leggings, water bottle and lunch quite admirably. It weighs nothing empty too.
I have taken off the waste strap, for me it's not necesary and the chest strap is too high, so I don't use it, bear in mind I am fairly big 6'2". Neither are important as its only a light sack. I love the whistle in the buckle :-)
If I were doing more technical stuff than scrambling and skiing, then the chest strap may be limiting for me.
That said, I love this sac and reccomend it as a Spring / Summer day sac, for scrambling and for skiing.

A Small Compact Day Sack

Let me start with saying that the main compartment of this bag is quite small but at 18 litres it is still big enough to fit in your daily needs.

I use this bag for bouldering and to take my lunch to work and for these 2 purposes it is perfect.

I can fit my 0.5l flask and 1l water bottle inside along with my guide book, chalk bag and packed lunch. On the outside there are plenty of hoops for hanging your smelly climbing shoes off - I also clip my hardshell onto the side.

Inside there are two seperate pockets as such, I use the small one for my guide book as it is only thin and the main for all of the kit mentioned above.

Inside you will also find loads of places to put keys, phone, wallet, brushes (bouldering), torches and any other small bits you may have.

All in all its perfect at what it is - a small daysack with a very high spec!
