good shoe to start with

I like the lightness of the shoe combined with the grip and support. Comfort for walking over everyday ground. Feet felt as if you were wearing slippers but had support all the time you had them on

Really comfy shoes!

These shoes are great for hot weather and are lightweight. Lots of space for feet when they get hot and swell a bit. Felt just like slippers!! Would be ideal for changing into after long day on hills wearing boots- good sole for rough ground.

Compression moulded comfort

I bought these shoes in April and I can honestly say that I have never been more delighted or impressed with a brand of footwear. They provide cushioned and flexible support, seeming to mould perfectly to the unique shape of your foot, whilst the waterproof leather provides protection from the elements and complete breathability. I wear my shoes every weekend in some pretty rough terrain - often for hours at a time - and so comfort is of paramount importance to me. That's why I love the Bellow tongue, which keeps debris out. Additionally the Aegis antimicrobial solution resists odour (again, very important). Quite simply, they're super; I would recommend them to any woman who wants hardwearing, shock absorbing footwear.

A sensible pair of shoes

I have just purchased these to replace a pair of Chameleon XCR shoes which gave excellent service over two years and must have covered somewhere near 4000 miles of dog-walking in all but the foulest of weather when boots were required. I never got wet feet even when wearing overtrousers.
The Moab shoes are the nearest in construction to the Chameleon but are all man/made fabric with no suede panels. They are very comfortable to wear and did not require breaking-in. A nice touch is the relective strip in the lacig loops. My only gripe so far is that the laces are quite short making a bow and knot a delicate exercise. I have no reservations in recommending Merrell shoes for comfort and durability.

Light and comfortable shoe

Intended to purchase the MOAB Ventilator as lightness and coolness were a priority. However I was also shown this shoe at the same time. It was more expensive but felt just as light and comfortable and I felt that having the Gortex option made the shoes more versatile.
I'm glad I did. Went to Dartmoor the next weekend and they performed excellently in very wet conditions. The fit is good and they were just as comfortable after 8 hours of walking in tough conditions. Would recommend.

A great shoe... so far!

This will be the 6th pair of Merrell footwear I have owned. All have been excellent; beyond compare. They are always comfortable straight from the box and mould beautifully to your feet as you wear them. They have been hard wearing yet retain their looks.
These new Moabs are no different, so far! But I read with interest the previous comment about waterproofing. I'm off to walk in the wet grass now...

great shoe that leaks!

I purchased these shoes as a replacement to my old walking boots. They are so light you hardly know you have them on. Very breathable. Unfortunately when walking through my wet lawn they leaked. I returned them to Merrell, who were very prompt in supplying me a new pair, which promptly leaked again within days. I returned this pair and am still waiting to hear from them. Beware.

Great walking trainers

Really comfy and light, went on a 6 mile walk first trip out, and not a blister in sight - fantastic.

Comfy!

These are a great all-round shoe, I've found them really comfy, supporting and dry especially in the recent torrential weather.

My one downside has been that when I first started wearing them I found they were pinching the top of my foot slightly but I think this was from tying them too tightly.

Supportive, comfortable & they look good!

I predominantly bought these shoes for walking my dog but they look so good I happily wear them all day long.
The snug fit feels like my feet are being firmly hugged whilst also offering great grip and sturdy ankle support on difficult terrain.
You pay a little extra for the Gore-Tex water-proofing but I personally think it's worth it; who wants to walk around on soggy feet? I don't & now I don't have to!

Very comfortable mid boot

I have a pair of heavy duty leather walking boots, but wanted a more lightwear shoe/boot for the warmer weather. These required no wearing in and I have not received a single blister, they also offer good support for those of us with high insteps. Highly recommended.
