Best Buy
Reviewed By John, 21 Jun 2013

Of all the jackets I saw in our local store today, I thought this was the best buy for all round weather protection at a reason price, so I bought it. This will be a luxury compared with my current 30 year old mid-range price jacket, which always let in rain during prolonged down pours.

Really keeps the wet out
Reviewed By Richard, 22 Nov 2012

This jacket really keeps the wet out and the choice of zip in fleeces gives great flexibility for warmth. The only little niggle is the tab on the 'next to the front fastenings' pocket catching when you zip the coat up, but a good all rounder

solid, dependable jacket
Reviewed By Alex, 01 Apr 2012

I bought this jacket second hand, and it had clearly seen alot of use, however, I have had it well over a year now and it has never let me down. It is dependably waterproof in the worst of rain (experienced in Scotland / Dartmoor /Exmoor)and invariably keeps me dryer than others with similar jackets. Perhaps not the most lightweight of Berghaus products but completely reliable. It does the job well. Only downside is that the pockets are slightly inconveniently positioned, they are not ideal for hands, althoguh good for holding other things, eg. compass, food, etc. Very comfotable watever the weather in particular it has a good hood which keeps the rain of face and eyes inless completely horizontal. NOt perfect, but very good indeed.

It will do the job.
Reviewed By alistair, 17 Dec 2011

Had this jacket for 12months. Tested on Dartmoor, v wet, to Snowden Jan 2011 v-cold -10 and windy.
Very good jacket it kept me dry at all times. the zips worked well, as did the map pocket. Can just get gear into pockets when wearing a bergan. The only small fault is the hood is not big enough.
