Disappointing straps let this down
Reviewed By Paul, 20 Apr 2013

I bought this over a year ago and it may have had a design change since then. I used it for my coast path walking adventures in Dorset and Devon. It had the right capacity for my minmalist packing and the side pockets enabled me to pack the waterproofs for quick access. My 3 litre platypus would just fit in the back pocket with 2.5 litres in it. However by far the worst aspect of this bag was the clips and buckles on the straps. I found the shoulder straps would slip through their buckles over time, the only way I could get round this was to knot the straps to prevent the strap slipping through. The right hand side chest strap was lost because it was only held on to the shoulder strap by the same buckle and just slipped through and fell off and in common with just about every sac of this size the waist clip is too small, its a faff to do up and release without accidently releasing my trouser belt which is the same size.It needs to be alt least twice as wide (like my really old predecessor) For these reasons I couldnt wear this and forget it, in fact it was a pain. If these problems still exist in the current incarnation then I cant recommend it.

Great bit of kit
Reviewed By Mike, 10 Mar 2012

I bought this bag before i went to the Lakes in Feb this year. I was able to fit alot of kit in this bag without it feeling unstable. Only downfall is that although the loops on the back are big enough for walking poles they are too small for an Ice Axe meaning i have had to adapt my bag so that i can fit one.

Great piece of kit. Took it on the Inca Trail in Peru! Handy raincover, breatheable, comfortable frame, compatible with hydration system. Great value.

Excellent Kit
Reviewed By Michael, 24 Oct 2011

I have used many types of bags, but this one has all you need .It has just the right amount of space, with excellent structure that prevents the old problem of getting your back soaked in sweat. It takes my water pack in a well situated pocket with space for the tubing to be accessible all the time.
For the price , quality and options this bag provides, i would have no difficulties in reccommending this bag.

Great all rounder

An ideal 'in between' sized rucksack for the occasional overnight. Plenty of room for a change of clothes, camera and all those little essentials. The waterproof cover is really useful, though the frame itself is quite curved making packing that little bit tricky.

Nice Day Sack
Reviewed By Leslie, 24 Aug 2011

I've had this sack over a year now and have used it in all seasons. It can takes loads of gear and is just about right for a day in the mountains if not carrying extras like climbing gear. The Aero frame keeps the pack off your back and is cool and comfortable in the summer, however this same feature create a draft in the winter that can be chilling. There are for external pockets for small items, maps etc, and the net pocket and hydration sack pocket internally. One issue is the curvature of the Aero frame makes the use of 3litre plus hydration packs difficult, as the net pocket doesn't open up enough to allow for the shape of the bottle. The the extnal pockets have water-proof zips, I don't know why as the pack itself isn't waterproof, however it does come with its own waterproof cover which is a useful extra.
Good alrounder

A very versatile rucksack that fits perfectly

Adjustable Freeflow frame makes this a very comfortable rucksack - lots of small pockets for those things you need to keep separate and the shelf in the main pocket, when closed, allows me to stow my camera gear apart from my clothing etc. making it easy to access it when needed. A great looking rucksack too.
