Overpriced Reviewed By Owen, 12 Jun 2013

A nice looking shirt, lightweight material, comfortable, sturdy buttons, good wicking, but I do have a few gripes:

Not great pockets - the chest ones are just mesh, so I wouldn't like to put anything heavy in them. The sleeve pocket is pretty redundant - I'd like to know what Bear keeps in it.

The main problem I had is the sleeve lengths - I'm 6'3", and the sleeves just aren't long enough. The stretchy elbow pads didn't reach my elbows. Ok if I roll them up on a hot day.

A good shirt if it's in a sale for £30-40, AND if you're under 6 foot.

Grylled in a rainforest Reviewed By Daniel, 15 Mar 2013

I won't mention again the details of my recent holiday to the luxury 5 star Sugar Beach resort on St Lucia or even think about the butler or rainforest spa or the dolphins we saw or that Gwynneth Paltrow often goes there. However I will mention again my walk up the 2600ft Gros Piton. It was a hot and sweaty walk over rocks, tree roots and loose stone.

I got the shirt in a sale and I probably only got it because of that. I'm not a huge Bear Grylls fan so wasn't influenced by his name, though I am a fan of Craghoppers. However I decided that this shirt would be perfect for a sweaty rainforest walk. How right I was. The temperature was over 30C and I was dripping with sweat. All my clothes were soaking and I probably smelt pretty awful too. However this shirt has magical properties. The sweat seemed to be whisked off my body and allowed to drain from the shirt. The material is quite odd – sort of a thin canvas material but very strong with a mesh on the inside.

Once back at the hotel I took off my shoes and socks and walked fully clothed into the villa pool to cool off. Now normally a shirt would need a good wash after such a walk but once dry (which didn't take long) the shirt didn't smell bad at all. I could have easily worn it again.

Well done to Craghoppers. It is now my favourite hiking shirt and will go wherever I go.

Absolutely recommended.

Great all round shirt Reviewed By kainoa, 20 Dec 2012

I bought this shirt for ten tors and was really impressed - Great UV protection, tough, warm at night and dried quickly during the day which is extremely helpful. Also washed (and dried) easily in the river using a basic soap. Comfortable and light to wear.
