Hi-Tec's Merlin represents incredible value: you're getting quite a lot of boot for your money!

Working from the ground up: the carbon rubber outsole offers great traction on rock, with deep lugs to maintain grip on softer ground. Uppers in waterproofed suede leather and lightweight fabric are studded with rustproof metal eyelets and backed with a waterproof lining, while a moisture-wicking inner keeps the foot dry. Continuing up the boot, a soft padded collar increases comfort, and protects ankle bones against sharp rocks.

The Merlin is ideal for paths, tracks and first forays into slightly more adventurous terrain.
