The ultra-light incarnation of THE definitive mountain tent.

This legendary bombproof design - seen in some of the most remote and extreme locations on the planet - uses DAC Featherlite poles, as used on adventure racing tents where weight is critical, but in a geodesic framework which braces the poles against each other to shake off extremes of weather from any angle. Inner-first pitching means the flysheet lashes the whole of the tent down and presents a sleek, wind-shedding profile.

While the outer is still unmistakably Quasar, the inner has been given an overhaul for improved ventilation, reduced weight and a light, airy feel. The guyline system has also been improved, for even faster and more secure anchoring.

World-class backpacking accommodation with a minimum weight well below 3 kilos, the Ultra Quasar is a stellar four season mountain shelter.

There's a good reason the quasar tent is still going strong and has been around for as long as I can remember.
Every geodesic tent I have seen seems to be a copy of this tent and not as good. Each part of the tent seems very well thought out making this tent a home from home where ever I go with it.
It has been on many expedition since I got it 6 years ago been wild camping in Norway, canoe expedition in Canada, strong gales in Scotland and still looks new with no signs of wear and tear.
The pegs are best I have ever used never bent how much abuse I give them. Always go into the ground.
This tent may be expensive but I look at as an investment. Most people I know have been through at least three tents in the time I have had mine and needed more than one tent.

This tent works well as a base camp tent and light enough for expeditions good in all camping situations I can't fault it in any way.

Used the Quasar as a base tent in the Alps for 2 weeks during some pretty severe weather this Summer. Absolutely no worries about stability in high winds or waterproofing despite being on the fringe of an area of flooding. Although sole occupant, plenty of room for plethora of ice and rock kit, food etc in the 2 eaves and the internal net pockets are a useful touch. Looking forward to putting it in my pack for a walking tour at Easter.

My Quasar is 18 years old and still going strong. It has been lugged around the Alps and the Himalayas and never let me down. The Quasar is the original mountain tent, often copied but never equalled. I smile every time I use mine because I know I am going to have a comfortable night. 10/10

I've had one of these for nearly 10 years now and it lives up to its incredible reputation. Mine has been up numerous mountains in dry, wet, hot and very cold weather and it always provides an outstanding level of protection from the elements. It has even been blown off the side of a mountain in the Highlands and survived a 1000ft fall with practically no damage. I even packed it back up and went back up the mountain where it looked after me for a further 3 days without a problem. And if you're wondering how it came to lift off from a mountain, that was entirely my fault for trying to pitch it solo in a gale. This is quite honestly the best piece of kit I have ever owned!
