It is completely waterproof! The seems are good, and the roll top is quiet nice! After about a year of some good use however the velcro came away from the plastic a bit, still useable but some what annoying.

I would highly recomend this map case. I have been using it on my Duke of Edinburgh Expiditions and even in heavy rain it stays waterproof. I found it very useful compaired to others I have had in the past due to the back and front being transparent and very clear to see through even when sunny. It is also very slim and compact which I found useful for on DofE. However I'm not too keen on the strap, in my opinion it is a bit rough on bare skin and also I was a bit disappionted that there was no pocket for a compass, whistle etc.

I have been walking and leading walks for many years and have never before found a map case like this. It is really excellent and has withstood torrential rain and wind, keeping my and notes well protected and totally dry. Would highly recommend

does what it says, nice toggles so you can fasten it to half map size, really happy!
