By choosing a brand which is a household name I expected this to be a quality product, sadly this is not the case.

The spark is very weak and extremely short range, I have experience of using ignition steels to start camp-fires but this one even struggles to light methylated spirits.

Given the usual standards at Cotswold's I am surprised they still stock this product.

This product is almost useless. It comes without instructions so it takes some time to realise there is a very small serration on ONE edge of the striker - this is able to raise a minute spark on one strike in 5 - at best. I tried returning it but since the manager was able to raise a feeble spark he was not interested in my problem. I then gave him the even smaller 'Light my Fire' model to try, which nearly set the shop on fire!
I wasted loads of time and precious gas in a freezing bothy in the Cairngorms trying to get this thing to work - don't bother.....
