Chlorine Dioxide tablets appeared to do the job of cleaning the water. No gut rot ensued.
Bad taste, and paid approximately 4 times as much for the same bad taste as Chlorine tablets. Also, the tablets took approx 1 hour to dissolve instead of the 10 mins that it says it should.
These issues may(?!) have had to do with the low temperatures (but not freezing) of camping in February in Scotland, but this is not too uncommon a time to camp with requirement for water purification. If this is a cause for these issues, perhaps a clearer warning notice on the packaging could be useful. The price I paid for 32 tabs is pretty steep...
