With a small pack size and weighing in at just a shade over a kilo, Mountain Hardwear's Lamina 35 Regular Sleeping Bag is a cracking little bag for two season use.

Using the innovative Mountain Hardwear Lamina construction technique, the weight and pack size of the bag are decreased and the lifespan is improved, but the warmth is not diminished!

The idea is clever yet simple: instead of stitching the insulation into the bag, it's welded. This means there are no seams to pinch together the layers of insulation, so it stays open and lofty and full of warm air. Obviously there are now no cold spots along the seams (because there are no seams!) and less filling is needed because its performance is not hindered. A useful side effect of this technique is that the insulation isn't creased by stitching, so the fibres are less likely to fragment, meaning the bag lasts longer.

As well as working at maximum efficiency and lasting longer than traditional bags, the Lamina 35 Regular Sleeping Bag is made with a comfortable shape to balance freedom with performance, and the Thermal.Q insulation keeps right on performing if you're unlucky enough to get it damp!

A well tested, great value product

We had a really cold night on whilst cycling Lands `end to John O' Groats where these sleeping bags were really useful. Kept us warm and cosy but are also lightweight and pack down small for panniers.

A decent lightweight synthetic sleeping bag
Reviewed By Glenn, 02 Sep 2013

I purchased this bag after visiting the Covent Garden store and testing a few.

Things that appealed to me were that it was synthetic (I'm quite clumsy and didn't want to run the risk of getting a down sleeping bag wet whilst wild camping), the choice of lengths (I'm 6'2 and 16 stone so chose the long bag).

I've used the bag in the cold and wet Lake District both in valley campsites and on a cold wild camping trip where it kept me nice and warm. I use it with a cheap cotton liner to help keep the bag clean and have had many a comfortable and good nights sleep in it without ever feeling cold.

The zip can get caught on the inside of the bag when opening or closing it which can be frustrating but a bit of patience and taking your time and this isn't too much of a problem.

I'd definitely recommend this to others.
