The hip belt was the main reason for this purchase and it works great. The adjustable shoulder straps are great and could even get small enough to fit me. With the extra strap across the breast, most of the weight is off your shoulders. Very happy with that.
The bottom compartment is slightly annoying in that the zip for the divider between the main and bottom compartments is on the 'bottom side' only, so it is not possible to unzip from the top/main compartment.

Peterborough Enthusiast
It fits well and is light weight. the whistle is a useful feature as is the rain cover.
There are no pole loops. I know that it is really intended for cyclists but we did not find a better rucksack for walkers except fo the missing pole loops.
