Self Heating Main Meal

1 2 3 4

HeaterMeals self heater meals go anywhere, require no refrigeration & heat themselves, in the packet. Patented heating technology and traditional home-style cooking ensure a nutritious and delicious meal, right where you're standing, be it in a field, on a boat or on top of a mountain! Simply put heater meals are meals that heat themselves! The patented self-heating technology was introduced for use by the U.S. Armed Forces in 1990 to heat meals for soldiers in the field. They were so successful and popular with troops they were adapted and made available throughout the world for use by the public. Since then this unique, patented, food heating system has heated over 800 million meals. When the sachet of salt water (included in the pack) is poured onto the heating pad, it generates heat inside the HeaterMeals pack, and your meal becomes piping hot in minutes. When finished, the whole pack is environmentally friendly enough to be simply thrown away or recycled. As it stays warm for up to 45 minutes it can be used as a hand or body warmer - you can even sit on it!

Easy to drink and very portable

A very drinkable, zero calorie sports drink. I've used these on numerous ultra distance running events and am confident that they reduce the chances of cramp. A light taste, and easily disolves in water.

simply brilliant

Brilliant, easy to use, great taste and good value for money. I have used other products similar to this but High 5 have come up with a winner here and its the best value for money. All flavours
taste great but citrus has the edge for me.

Great food in emergency

Used it on an ambulance shift at New Year when other food places were closed. Good filling food for active and unsocial shifts.

Currying favour.

Brilliant. Just brilliant. A complete hot meal in one packet. No need for water (there is a sachet included) No need for a stove. Simple to use, you just remove outer packaging put the meal bag, along with the water from the sachet, into the bag containing the heating pad and leave it for 10-15 minutes. You can then get on with walking, setting up camp, or just admiring the view. At £5.50 a meal, definitely an expensive single source of sustenance ( I still always carry a stove) but ideal as emergency food, for times when conditions prevent stove cooking or for those occasions where you just want a little hassle free luxury! The lamb curry is pretty decent - I just need to find a way to keep the poppadoms whole in my rucksack...

great lightweight stove with excellent pack size

this stove has been an amazing piece of my kit for many expeditions, with a brillant price tag for such a cracking piece of kit.1 would recommend it to any one who wants a excellent, reliable stove for their rucksack. With the igntor there is no need for matches as it is all in one. Also with the wide spread of the stand it will alway be completely steady on any surfce. This is a great bit of kit that will always be in my rucksack.

Cracking Stove

This is a great little stove which does everything you could want.

It is very light, folds down small, boils water quickly and is very stable on uneven ground.

I also found that it does not really use much has at all and it also has a built in piezo.

What more could you ask for :)

Great stove for the money.

Usually I am a great believer in you get what you pay for. However this stove performs well above the price tag. A good stable platform, remote burner, good pack size, reasonably powerful. Comes with a piezo which is still working after lots of use(a novelty) and wind shield. Really good value stove.

Excellent for backpackers!

Bought this stove to use on an exped over Dartmoor with my son, Really easy to use and set up and boils up a brew really quick. It packs away to a compact size which you can hold in your hand and we stowed ours inside the mess tins so no wasted space. We took several small canisters for a few days but only actually used one so it is very efficient. All in all this is an extremely good bit of kit if space and weight is an issue. Thouroughly recommend it.

Top Notch Stove

This stove is great. Due the spider design this stove is uber stable; this, in conjunction with the serrated arms prevents cooking pots from slipping of (unless you turn it upside-down). Another cool feature is the pack size. The sirocco packs down (gas canister not included - I'll come to that in a minute) to the size of a Trangia burner unit. Other groovy features such as the Piezo - click lighter thing and metal braided hose make this stove superior to any Trangia in my opinion (and I have had a few). The final thing that I love is the extended gas hose. The gas canister doesn't attach to the bottom of the burner unit (called 'remote feed' design) it instead runs through a braided metal hose that is very durable. This allows you to use any kind of gas canister you like. The stove adaptor uses En 417 cartridges which are a universal type.

To conclude this stove has a range of winning features that make it a great all round cooking stove.

Tip. The gas cartridges used by most blow torches, (350ml propane/butane mix) are compatible with this stove, are self sealing and are a ton cheaper per ml. I would strongly recommend looking out for these cartridges rather than the standard 175/190ml ones that most outdoor shops sell.

Stovetastic !

I really wanted one of those fancy pants Jet boil stoves you see on all of the magazines, but after chatting to the chap in the shop he recommended this stove and I'm really glad we got it now. Not only was it a stack cheaper, but it packs down smaller, you can detach the gas bottle, pick which size bottle you take with you and it has it's own lighter. Not only that but you can choose from a wider range of cook wear to use on it. Much better value ! Saved us about £100 on what we would have spent, more money for pasta and noodles !! (and beer)
Very stable to use, boils up quickly. Not had any problem with the pan slipping even in high winds. It is Stovetastic!

Great, solid stove!

I used this whilst I camped in the wild and it was very reliable and I found it more stable than a cheaper stove that I had used previously! It's also very handy that it's got a lighter within the stove so you don't need a lighter.

Let down by the detail

In principal the remote cylinder design is great for stability but it's let down by the smoothness of the pan stand. It means the pan slides all over the place and on the slightest incline will run off. Because of this I found my cylinder mounted stove to be much more stable.
