Jetboil

Zip Stove

1 2 3 4 5

Simplicity, reliability, low weight and high performance:  what more could you want from a stove?! JetBoil's Zip Personal Cooking System delivers incredibly efficient heat and ease of use. The burner attaches simply into the base of the cup, whose FluxRing heat exchanger then makes short work of boiling the cup's contents: just two and a half minutes to boil half a litre. The protective base can be used as a bowl (or measuring cup), so one Zip can be used for two peoples' lunch. Those with bigger appetites can expand the system with one of JetBoil's range of Companion Cups: the speed of cooking means the second cup will be done almost straight after the first. A stabilising tripod keeps the whole assembly rock solid and even greater usability comes from the pot support, allowing the burner to be used with a wide range of different cooking vessels.

Jetboil

Sol Stove

The JetBoil system...but faster and lighter. The Sōl is based around JetBoil's trusted formula: an light, integrated, packable cooking system with an insulated, FluxRing equipped cup for super efficient heat transfer and ultra-rapid boiling. At its heart though is the Thermo-Regulate Burner, a true four season unit, engineered to deliver consistent heat output down to -6°C. As canisters empty and temperatures change, many stoves suffer from fluctuations in performance; the Sōl irons out these inconsistencies, so you can rely on your JetBoil to come up with the goods, whatever the conditions. Of course, being a JetBoil, this little powerhouse packs neatly inside itself so you're left with hardly any extra bulk to stow in your pack.

My best bit of kit!

Versatile, reliable, compact - I can't recommend this product enough... and you don't even need a lighter or matches as it comes with an igniter. The triangular shaped foot plate in this updated design has sorted out the balance issues. I have used this for everything from winter mountaineering to heating baby food on a long walk. A must buy!

Currying favour.

Brilliant. Just brilliant. A complete hot meal in one packet. No need for water (there is a sachet included) No need for a stove. Simple to use, you just remove outer packaging put the meal bag, along with the water from the sachet, into the bag containing the heating pad and leave it for 10-15 minutes. You can then get on with walking, setting up camp, or just admiring the view. At £5.50 a meal, definitely an expensive single source of sustenance ( I still always carry a stove) but ideal as emergency food, for times when conditions prevent stove cooking or for those occasions where you just want a little hassle free luxury! The lamb curry is pretty decent - I just need to find a way to keep the poppadoms whole in my rucksack...

Great handy solid light.

This is an amazing little bit of kit. Since i brought my maglite i haven't stopped using it. You use it for things which you didn't even realise you needed it for before that makes your life so much simpler and easier. eg; opening the front door in the dark, i now just put my light on to find the keyhole! It stays with you at all times as it just hangs from your keyring yet is small enough not to get in the way but still powerful for many uses. I would recommend this to anyone.

I've had one of these for a couple of years now and its worth every penny. Great Stove

The pocket rocket is very light and kicks out some serious heat. As long as I am out of the wind it boils up a litre of water in a couple of minutes. Once you are done simply unscrew, fold in the 'fins' alongside the burner and the whole thing slips in to the handy plastic container supplied with the stove. Good lightweight stove, kicks out a lot of heat.

Works great and very durable

The most important things for me when looking for kit is not cost but whether it works and it lasts.
Pocket rocket ticks the boxes. Msr have a knack of producing good solid kit and pocket rocket is no exception. I own two one I use for camping bivi'ing or at the crag the other just sits in the car.

Yes I know if you are out for more than a few days extra canisters can be a pain to carry or resupply but the power of the rocket means often one canister will be more than enough.
No priming no mess you just switch on and light leaving you with a smile on your face watching others faff around with less effective stoves.
It really is a no nonsense food heater and brew maker and most importantly seems to really lasts

5 stars all around

Quite simply a brilliant bit of kit! It's so simple but also very effective! Very small and lightweight. Does exactly what it says on the tin, when you fire it up it looks like a rocket about to take off! Works even better if you get yourself a decent pan set to go with it! For the price you will not get better.

Incredibly small and light weight

The sheer size of (or lack of) this stove makes is it's main feature. You can fit this stove and a small gas canister into a side pocket of a bag - you don't have to dig everything out of your bag to find it. Coupled with a mess tin it takes up very little space, and, crucially, weighs very little too. Perfect for when you get to a campsite and just want a cup of tea - it can boil a litre of water in less than four minutes. For the price I don't think you could beat it.

Does what it says!

I have used this extensively in the alps. Great for bivvis / snow holing. Very light, tough, easy to use with gloves, packs very small and comes in great storage box. Although designed for smaller gas canisters I have found it very stable with a variety of sizes so good for cooking back in the valley too.

For the price, cannot be beaten!

If you are after a light, compact and easy to use stove, then this is it! Its only 85g & easily fits into my msr kettle/pots due to its compact nature. This thing is always reliable, heats water quickly (the claimed value of 1 litre in under 4 minutes is true) and will easily cook for two. I would probably not use it as a base camp stove for several people as you would burn through fuel though. It appears to fit all of the screw type canisters I have tried and is easily controllable with gloves on.

Downsides?: I haven't found any. Some say this is noisy. True, but I find that it is no louder than alternatives from other manufacturers. The only true downside to these stoves is the fuel if you are using it at high altitude or intense cold ... but you would be using a multi-fuel stove if in these environments! I find that warming the fuel in your sleeping bag before you cook works sufficiently.

This is an excellent, easy to maintain and use stove, which for the price, cannot be beaten.

Running on resealable gas cartridges, this little burner is easy to use and puts out a lot of heat, cooking your meal in no time, and genuinely justifying the name "Pocket Rocket".
