A new evolution of the lightweight waterproof walking boot, the Scarpa Baltoro GTX boot is tuned for hiking comfort in a changeable climate. While it may look unassuming, the Scarpa Baltoro GTX has a lot going on under the surface. Scarpa's Active Fit Technology encompasses a series of features to ensure the boots fit precisely to your feet, keeping them safely supported and comfortably accommodated. The Heel Tension locking system stops your ankles rolling on uneven surfaces, while the Flex Point construction allows them to nevertheless flex naturally. The elastic fabric of the Autofit Collar and the memory foam Ankle Padding work in conjunction with smooth-running Speed Lacing to fit the shape of the boot exactly to the shape of your foot: no excessive movement means no uncomfortable rubbing. As well as Active Fit Technology, Scarpa's Active Impact Technology is built into the Baltoro GTX, in the shape of the Hi Trail Fly sole unit. A shock absorbing PU midsole takes the impact out of each foot-strike, and the rugged rubber Vibram outsole, engineered for maximum grip and traction, connects you to the trail. Along with a waterproof and breathable Gore-Tex membrane, quality leather and durable fabrics are added into the mix. The result is a comfortable, lightweight, supportive and protective boot for hiking and light trekking in milder climates.
