Brilliant Waterproof Jacket

I have used it in varying conditions, cold and warm, it hasn't let me down yet. Very happy with it... Hood could be a little bit smaller and back could be a little bit longer.
Great jacket Marmot!

Deceptively brilliant and great value for money

The Mens Pro Tour Jacket by Marmot is exceptionally light and packs down superbly, when unpacking it my first thoughts were how can something this light and small work so well but as soon as you put it on, the warmth, ease of movement and extreme comfort become apparent. The pockets are exceptionally roomy and the sturdy build of such a light jacket is really very impressive.
The design of the jacket is absolutely fantastic, the separate hood and neck system allow for maintaining warmth even when it's not wet enough to require the hood. There are also toggles on the neck, hood, and bottom of the jacket, allowing easy adjustment to retain even more warmth and keep out the elements when necessary.
The Pro Tour is a thoroughly excellent jacket, with all the creature comforts you could ask for, extremely wind proof but still highly breathable, it certainly looks to be a perfect jacket for almost any outdoor activity and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone, superb value for money.

Fantastic find! Brilliant jacket.

I've had a Marmot rucksack for about five or six years now (on the recommendation of one of my my sons) and it is still going strong after much use and abuse (including carrying a dead lamb off the hills) so when I saw this jacket I thought I'd give it a try. It's been a revelation! I was on the top of Kinder the other week in biting cold horizontal rain driven by a gale force wind and it kept me (with the aid of a North Face base layer and light tee-shirt) warm and dry. It's already become a tried and trusted friend and will probably last me many years, just like it's rucksack cousin.

Great light weight softshell

This jacket is made from Marmot's M3 material, this being the most breathable out of the three (M1, M2 and M3). It is lightweight and a very good fit. It has a good stretch to the fabric and the jacket doesn't ride up when your arms are above your head, making it ideal for climbing. The hood is big enough to be used over your climbing helmet and moves with your head when adjusted correctly with the draw chords. It offers resistance to light showers but anything more than that you will have to don Gore-tex. Thermally, it isn't the warmest jacket in the world but is ideal whilst on the move on the hill.
All in all i am impressed with this lightweight softshell, so much so i wear it pretty much everywhere. Only down point i could muster would be the price, i think it could be slightly cheaper, but then everything seems to be getting more expensive these days.

Best waterproof so far

Although I have had a few jackets recently which have claimed to be completely breathable, I have always found that they haven't been as described, and have suffered from condensation problems. However, expecting exactly the same from this jacket, I was completely surprised as to how excellent it is. My first trip out in it was in the Lakes on a relatively warm day, with rain that developed from drizzle to torrential. Whereas I expected to remain dry anyway from rain ingress, I wasn't expecting to be utterly dry on the inside, not one bit of condensation after a few hours walking.

So, without doubt, this jacket really does breath incredibly well and, if you do produce more than average vapour from sweat, you will not be disappointed.

Get one before their all gone!

1) Exceptionally light
2) Great fit for all outdoors sports - mine has been used for skiing, mountaineering, climbing and MTB. If using a heavyweight mid-layer you may consider going up a size
3) Amazing price - at the current reduced price you'd be mad not to have one
4) As with any ME kit, quality is 2nd to none!
5) Fantastic hood and wire peak - fit is great, doesn't crush your head nor does it flap about
6) Shame is doesn't have 2 map pockets but based on price this really shouldn't put anyone off!
7) Buy it before thier all gone!
Cheers,
GDT

You will not be dissapointed

It's hard to believe that a jacket this light, is waterproof, but the Gore-Tex pro shell is just that.

Although it doesn't pack down as small as a pac-a-mac, it still stows away into the hood pretty well for packing into rucsacks etc.

Cut is snug, but not overly so. I can wear a pretty heavy duty softshell underneath, and it still felt comfortable around the shoulders etc.

Length is good, I'm 6ft 3inchs and both arms and body are just about perfect.

Although it is windproof and waterproof there is no insulation, so if wearing during the winter, bare in mind that you'll need to layer up.

Front pocket looks as if it's been specificly designed to hold an OS service map (they certainly fit).

The only quible I can think of is that the main zip only opens one way, so you can't have the bottom slightly open. However, that said, because the jacket doesn't go all the way down to your thighs, it's not much of an issue.

Great starting jacket and all rounder

This is fantastic value for money- I use this especially in warmer months as my mid layer. I had a softshell before but was too heavy to use in warmer temps. This is very easy to walk with, lightweight and provides great insulation should you need to add your hardshell outer layer or other variant. This over the top of a base layer provides adeqate ventilation and windproofing for most ascents. I love this jakets and is the mainstay of my equipment locker. The pockets are large enough to take phones/wallets etc and the tapered arms and cuffs feel very nice and the quality of the garment is superb. If you like softshells but find some a little heavy (or like me you run hot on most ascents) this is perfect for you.
