On the 5th of May, our Manchester Deansgate store will host a navigation workshop in association with Ordnance Survey. This free of charge workshop will cover a range of discussion points, from what a GPS is and how it can help you, to finding out how a GPS can be a great safety tool in bad weather.
The evenings will consist of workshops on standard map and compass navigation, followed by a GPS session. There will be Cotswold Outdoor and OS staff in attendance, who will follow with a Q&A session.

Welcome
Our Cotswold Outdoor store in Manchester, Deansgate is around 7000sq feet and packed with great outdoor products over three floors - the largest being the basement. Ladies wear can be found on the ground floor with camping on the first. The best is saved for the Aladdin's cave-like basement where you can find our extensive boot range, rucksacks, more womens wear and all mens wear. We stock a comprehensive range of trusted brands from The North Face to Montane and everything in between.
We also have a good travel library and a full range of OS maps. We are constantly expanding the library so if we don't have what you need, just let us know and we will see what we can do. We also offer an excellent boot fitting service, so whether you are looking for your first pair of high-altitude mountaineering boots or a three-season walking boot for the lakes, our aim is to get you the best possible fit. Please note that you should allow a good hour when coming for a boot fitting and you can call in advance to book.
Staff
We also are proud to have on our team some of the most enthusiastic and highly experienced staff to offer sound advice based on their own extensive experiences. Between us we have travelled all over the globe, and have passionate mountaineers, climbers, skiers, mountain bikers, trail runners and walkers in our ranks. We are more than happy to pass on our knowledge, recommend places to visit or just swap adventure stories.
Location
We are conveniently located in the heart of Manchester city centre on the junction of King Street and Deansgate, next to House of Fraser. Access to the store is from Deansgate. We are a 10-15 minute walk from both Victoria and Piccadilly train stations, with the Number 2 Metro Link Shuttle stopping just outside the store on Deansgate. There are numerous bus stops nearby and a route planner can be found here.
There are also numerous NCP car parks in the area, the most convenient is located on Back South Parade. Being located in Manchester, means we are in the heart of the Peak District, The Lakes and have North Wales within 90 minutes - what more could you want?
