used for Walking, Scrambling

These are a very comfortable pair of 3 season walking boots. I really like what Asolo call their active heel support. This is an extra piece of rubber in the heel which really makes a difference - At the end of the day your foot just feels a lot less tired.

Verdict: Brilliant boots!

Like walking in the clouds Reviewed By Richard, 14 Feb 2013

These boots are incredible! There. I've said it!

I was helped into these boots in the Salisbury store by Mel who showed me loads of different ones, and let me try them on. These just felt instantly right! I can scramble over all terrain in them, they grip well in snow, they're waterproof and breathable thanks to the gore-tex meaning not too hot or too cold, loads of support, and I can honestly say I wore them for 7 days straight on Kilimanjaro, they coped with the extremes in temperature (30 by day, -20 by night), and by the end of it I didn't have a single blister the whole time.

My boots must have done a good a good 200 miles easily, and they're more comfortable than new, but still look like they did out the box!

Fantastic boot for UK fells Reviewed By Oliver, 07 Feb 2013

Worn these boots over the past year on a number of walks on both flat ground and on some of the fells of the Lake District. Feet remained dry on even the wettest of days thanks to the Gore-Tex lining. Sole unit is really sturdy and has withstood a great deal of walking very well indeed. However, the boot is not too stiff as to be uncomfortable. All in all, a fantastic boot for a variety of uses.

A year on and still 5 out of 5 - Darren again Reviewed By Darren, 09 Jan 2013

I was impressed with these boots from day 1 - and a year on I am even more impressed. I think I would break before they do. Comfortable, tough and watertight - especially after a years cleaning and waterproofing, the water just falls off.

Satisfied customer Reviewed By Chris , 24 Sep 2012

For me the reveiw is more about the care and attention that I got when trying on these boots from the shop assistant. When I told him I have struggled with blisters for years his reaction was excellent after a hour of trying various types and different sizes of boots I was very pleased to walk out of the shop with these boots in my hand. So thank you for your patience.

Asolo Flame GTX Reviewed By Darren, 06 Sep 2012

Fabulous boots. The staff enthusiastically recommended them before I bought. Felt comfortable straight away and have stood up to hundreds of miles walking in pretty damp conditions this year. Stayed comfortable and dry. Look pretty good too.

Sturdy upper, sole perhaps not so great Reviewed By Jamie, 31 Oct 2011

Having heard these boots may take some time to wear in, I took them for a walk in the countryside first rather than the mountains. Initially the boots felt very supportive and I had no worries about kicking into rocks etc. The lugs aren't very deep so if you walk on mud they quickly fill up and aren't very grippy. Unfortunately a small part of the sole came away on this first walk, which didn't make me too confident about taking them anywhere technical so I returned these for refund.

Ideal for the Cumbrian fells Reviewed By David, 26 Sep 2011

These boots offer two features that are important for me. The laces are easy to tie tight (for those who have inflexible fingers) and the boots give firm ankle support. They are comfortable straight from the box; no need to break in. They are ideal for walking the Cumbrian fells.

Top quality boots Reviewed By Michael, 04 Jul 2011

I just had a weekend away doing walking/scrambling/bouldering in Derbyshire, and these are fantastic. They were comfortable, resilient and tough, not to mention waterproof, which came in useful when crossing fords. At the end of the weekend, with everyone else complaining of blisters, my feet were completely unaffected by the strenuous time they had.

Great pair of boots Reviewed By Alistair, 09 May 2011

I recently bought these for a Duke of Edinburgh expedition, and having worn them solid for 2 days, am very pleased with my purchase. They are fairly breathable, as my feet weren't hot at all, and very comfortable. The GoreTex lining is also great, as having stepped in several puddles my feet remained waterproof. A great pair of boots at a fairly average price.

Great for narrow feet Reviewed By Alvin, 06 May 2011

I bought these recently, so as I could get into scrambling. I went on a trek in the peak district, in kinder scout, I was very worried that my feet would end up with massive blisters, just like with other boots I've had. But even after a couple of hours of walking and a bit of scrambling(non-stop), these boots still fell uncomfortable and the grip is very good as well. I would recommend these boots to anyone who has narrow feet like me.These didn't need breaking in either...
