Not suitable for high level use Reviewed By Shaun, 12 May 2013

I bought these after been advised to by the member of staff in the store.
I explained I was needed a new boots for my Summer Mountain Leader course, and I would be walking and scrambling a lot over the week.
Out of the box the boot was very comfortable and fitted well. I broke them in very easily in a matter of days.
My concern with the boots was after a week on my Summer ML course the boots are now in a very poor state.
The leather is very soft around the toe box, and after crossing a number of scree sloops you can almost see the lining.
The sole is also not good on wet granite or edging on a slope.
When they got wet on a river crossing they retained all the water.
I will to be buying Asolo boots again.

Just bought a pair of Asolo Powermatic 200. Great boot for small, slim feet. Sturdy footbed (enhanced by Superfeet insoles) and classy looks. Hope they will prove blister free on long trails.

Best boots ever Reviewed By John, 18 Jan 2013

Most helpful staff who took the time and trouble to give assistance. Did not feel rushed even thought hey were busy, member of staff at Cardiff most patient. These boots are the most expensive I have ever bought but I believe they will be an investment. Extremely comfortable once you get past the solid feel of the boot. Most suitable for rugged terrain.

I have the womens version!!! Awesome!!! Reviewed By Gemma, 17 Jan 2013

I was looking for a decent solid boot which fitted me feet well ... these were just perfect. As the only pair in store as they were newly introduced as a womens boot, I didnt hesitate to buy them. They are extremely comfotable and fit my narrow heels very well - I am prone to blisters and rubbing, and so far I have been very pleased with these boots as my feet have stayed intact. Check your local store to see if they have the female version of these boots ... you will not be disappointed!

Great for Narrow feet Reviewed By simon, 16 Sep 2012

I've just bought a pair for my son to replace a pair of Scarpa boots. The fit for narrow feet is very good. The lacing system is very quick and even and the whole boot is "Quality" The Staff at the Truro store are brilliant, know what they are doing when it comes to boot fit and nothing seems to much trouble for them.

Sturdy boot, great for narrow feet Reviewed By Rachel, 18 Apr 2012

Very comfortable boot that has good, sturdy all-round support. The lace-up system is great, the little pulleys on the lower part of the boot guarantee an even pull around the foot. As I have narrow feet, these boots were suggested to me by the staff in the Maidstone Cotswolds, and I have to say they fit very well. Still getting used to the colour, but a small price to pay for a great boot.

OMG - how comforatable Reviewed By Adrian, 12 Apr 2012

Ive had leather boots of one description or another since I was 15 some 20 years ago.. These boots have to be ranked in the top 3 I have ever worn if not the best. The stiff sole might feel too rigid for some but dont let that put you off as internally the construction is as such that when you are walking it feels soft. Gore-tex lined so that there is always that final barrier should water make it through the leather. Im a narrow fit and had Scarpa ZG10's which ticked all the right boxes for me but were too wide and my feet suffered. I Decided that enough was enough and trotted to the Truro branch where my problems were listened to and answered with superb service and patience. An hour later I emerged with the perfect boot for my feet.

I have a 35 mile walk coming up and have only walked about 10 miles in these thus far, but feel confident that no further breaking in is required as the boots feel like a quality pair of trainers even though they are stiff and leather.

If your looking for boots make sure you try these, you wont be dissapointed.

Very comfortable and well made Reviewed By Simon, 10 Apr 2012

It is worth the effort to go to the store and get advice on buying boots. I made the mistake of buying discounted boots from an outlet a couple of years ago – it wasn’t a good investment!

A helpful assistant in the Betws-y-Coed store measured my feet and told me that I should try a different shoe size. My feet are long, shallow and narrow and it seemed like I had been using the wrong boot size all along. He brought out these boots, amongst others, but they seemed the most suitable. My advice is not to buy boots over the internet unless you are certain of the fit – the service that I received in the store was very useful. The assistant gave me a lot of time to ensure that I had the right choice.

I have taken the boots for a couple of long walks. My feet were completely dry, the grip is excellent and they are very supportive and comfortable. I would highly recommend these boots.

Excellent boots available in wide and narrow fit Reviewed By James, 03 Apr 2011

I bought a pair of these in 2009 and they have proved very satisfactory, the most comfortable boots I’ve ever had. They are available in a wide (and also a narrow) fit in addition to the standard fit though, despite all the hype from outdoor equipment stores that their service will “ensure you get the perfect fit for your feet”, I failed to locate any stores that stock the boots in wide fit to try on. So, having tried on the standard fit to get the correct boot size, I took the plunge and asked Cotswold to special order a pair in wide fit for me and am very pleased I did. They’re great. (I was initially told that, if I specially ordered a pair, I would have to purchase them even if the fit was not correct when I tried them on but the Covent Garden store eventually relented. Mine did fit perfectly but the message is, if unsure, just be persistent.)

Fantastic pair of boots Reviewed By Iain, 05 Mar 2011

I bought these boots because I already had a pair of Asolo Fugitive boots and was very happy with their fit and comfort. The Asolo Power Matic 200 GTX are comfortable straight out of the box. I had to dye them black (I'm in Armed Forces and wanted to wear them for work, dylon black dye works well). Wearing them day in day out I have found them to be spacious enough for the wider foot, but still tight enough to be very comfortable (more comfortable and flexible than my Scapa SL's). Bottom line so far I am very happy, recommended purchase.
