solid, dependable jacket

Reviewed By Alex, 01 Apr 2012

I bought this jacket second hand, and it had clearly seen alot of use, however, I have had it well over a year now and it has never let me down. It is dependably waterproof in the worst of rain (experienced in Scotland / Dartmoor /Exmoor)and invariably keeps me dryer than others with similar jackets. Perhaps not the most lightweight of Berghaus products but completely reliable. It does the job well. Only downside is that the pockets are slightly inconveniently positioned, they are not ideal for hands, althoguh good for holding other things, eg. compass, food, etc. Very comfotable watever the weather in particular it has a good hood which keeps the rain of face and eyes inless completely horizontal. NOt perfect, but very good indeed.

It will do the job.

Had this jacket for 12months. Tested on Dartmoor, v wet, to Snowden Jan 2011 v-cold -10 and windy.
Very good jacket it kept me dry at all times. the zips worked well, as did the map pocket. Can just get gear into pockets when wearing a bergan. The only small fault is the hood is not big enough.
