excellent belay device Reviewed By Liam, 18 Mar 2013

The ATC gets 5 stars, it fits plenty of widths of rope and runs really smoothly. Had mine over 3 months now and no signs of wear. Best belay I've had!

Smooth belay device. Reviewed By Alex, 07 Apr 2012

These are great for belaying light folk and are smooth on abseils. I wouldn't recommend them for belaying any chunky monkeys as they don't have the highest friction when locked off.

Simple but very effective. Reviewed By Matt , 14 Mar 2012

Easily one of the most simplistic belay devices, but that does not mean that it doesnt work!
It is very easy to handle, and very light.
Doesn't have the grooved channels seen in other belay devices which may be a problem if the belayer is lighter than the climber as some slippage may occur.

mazing and always will be a classic Reviewed By louie, 28 Mar 2011

this is the biz
i have owened this for nearly a year now and can honestly say that it has been great, very slick on the pay-out but will catch a fall with ease, these things are made to last forever. there is only one down side and thats the slight weight issue, but its only a couple of grams. it has and probably will be the industry standered for a while to come yet. amazing service at the harrogate store.
