Worth the extra Reviewed By Jenny, 02 Apr 2013

I've used a merino buff for a couple of years now in a variety of conditions both for cycling and hill walking. Buffs make great scarfs which can be pulled up over your face to give protection against the wind. Used this way, they're thin enough to let you breath through and so they're pretty comfortable. The merino version is expensive, but lovely! Compared to a normal buff I think they're warmer and more comfortable to wear. They also have the smell reduction capacity of all merino products. A normal buff does the job though, so if you're on a tight budget you'll not go wrong by buying the cheaper version.
In terms of performance, a buff (or 2) is enough for me, but if you go out in brutal conditions (-10 with 60mph gusts say), they'll not give you enough protection and a sexy full face balaclava would suit you better....

I look buff in my buff! Reviewed By rachel, 28 Feb 2013

Love my buff - the merino wool is superfine and comfy and not in the least itchy, and I love the plum colour. Its top quality and the perfect size - recommended.

Superb! Reviewed By Ian, 22 Feb 2013

What more can I say! I work outdoors all day and have had a lovely warm neck in the recent minus 15 degree temperatures. Well worth the money.

Nothing beats this! Reviewed By Ben, 18 Jan 2013

Quite simply, it is warm and practical, so parting with your dosh on this buff is money well - spent. My wife even gave me a big smacker for buying it for her! Looks great on her too.

Great ear covering! Reviewed By Vanessa, 12 Sep 2012

I have just bought a cobalt blue one of these. I have had so many different types of buffs in the past I have lost count. However, this Merino Wool buff is one of my favourite because it allows you to breath through it, without moisture forming on the inside.

I also use it to cover my ears in cold weather (due to having ear problems) and I haven't had an ear ache since I have had one! I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to stay warm, whatever way they want to wear it.

Buff-tastic! Reviewed By Toni, 20 Jun 2012

Only just discovered the merino version of this marvellous piece of kit. If the normal version is anything to go by I am in for a real treat. As yet un-tried, but hoping for great things on my Dog Sled trip Arctic Circle next March. Will be back with that last star upon my return (hope to grab it from the northern lights sky!)

Get this one! Reviewed By , 01 Feb 2012

I have been using this buff almost on daily basis and cannot fault it's performance. It effectively soaks away moisture from my long walks and jogs as well provide protection against icy winds. I bought one for my wife too and she has discarded other scarves in favour of the merino buff.

A mini marvel Reviewed By , 28 Nov 2011

Large enough to snuggle up round the neck under the chin and create a thick draught barrier, but scrunches up small to store in a jacket pocket. I always wear a traditional shirt, but with an open top button. It's brilliant to be able to quickly pull it up over the nose for extra warmth around the face. On top of that it's fun trying out the different ways it can be worn. Must get a spare one to keep in the car.
