These thin and light weight slings are often recommended for Alpine climbing etc though I'm more than glad to cut down on weight for modest walk ins like Glencoe. Also, for climbers who enjoy winter breaks in Spain or Morocco keeping your luggage weight down is just as important. Added to that, their narrow width makes them the best option for placing on marginal spikes. Well worth having a couple on Trad routes.
