I have bought this Highlander folding shovel to put in the car when snow is forecast.
It is a bit on the heavy side at 1Kg but this is to be expected as it is as described of 'heavy duty steel construction'.
When unfolded it is 60cm in height, 25cm when folded. The width of the spade is 15cm.
I believe that this will be up to the job of clearing snow and ice around the tyres to help get some grip and get the car unstuck.
Only two minor suggestions that I would make:
1) add a brief paragraph on to the packaging to explain how to lock the spade once it is unfolded (with spade fully extended, screw down the large collar-lock type nut). I guessed it was something like this but at first was not sure. Looks like you can also lock the spade head at 90 degrees to have a hoe, though this does reduce the overall length so not sure how effective it would be...
2) a pouch would be useful to keep it tidy in the boot of the car
Other than this, for less than a tenner, I am happy with the purchase.
