As soon as the straps were worn in it was far more comfortable as they were initially very stiff. The shafts kept poking out of their holdings so I had to replace it but with the same model as it worked so well on longer hikes.

A good value rucksack, which, when used on a long expedition proved durable, comfortable and resistant although more external straps could have proved useful. But for general use a trustworthy buy.

We bought this rucksack recently for my son's first expedition for his bronze Duke of Edinburgh award. Although it was only for 2 nights, we chose this one because he is committed to doing the silver & gold which culminates in 2 weeks in Norway next year & so wanted something that would be sturdy, not too heavy, & functional. It ticks all the boxes as it expands to allow you an extra 10L storage plus it has a very useful central access point so that you don't have to take everything out of the bag from the top to get to somrthing near the bottom of the bag. The TFX back system means that it fully adjusts to the height of the wearer, & in my son's case, will have to be adjusted a few times before he gets to Norway next year at the rate he's growing! He found it very comfortable once it was full of equipment as all the weight was taken on his hips.
A great buy.

I ordered this rucksack for a short training expedition and as good as it was, I had big problems with fitting it. the first day I wore it out it was very painful but by then end of the week it was pretty good, the only other criticism I can make is the the straps are quite hard and can leave burns where they've been rubbing. Other than that the compartments are all good and useful and I like the two very small pouches on the waist straps. Good rucksack overall but takes a lot of fitting and getting used to.
