Good All Round Approach Shoes Reviewed By Edward, 23 Mar 2013

Writing reviews for shoe/boots is always going to be a subjective thing as everyone's foot will be different and what is comfortable for one will be awful to another. Please take it that I find these shoes a comfortable fit for my foot, but what I really liked was the stiffness - just enough to support, but not so stiff that they were uncomfortable (like the Haglofs Crag GT). I do not normally go for a Gore-Tex shoe, but I have found these to be fantastic in the wet conditions over the winter period without super heating my feet. Lastly I found the sole super grippy without getting clogged with mud etc. In fact I now were these shoes as a everyday shoe. My only criticism are the laces that do not seem to stayed tied, but I should really learn to tie a double bow... If this shoe fits your foot, then you will love how it performs.

Geat all purpose shoe Reviewed By John, 12 Dec 2012

Bought these for hill walking but found that I'm using them almost every day as they are so comfortable and hard wearing. A great all rounder

Usual Merrell quality Reviewed By martin, 15 Nov 2012

As usual with Merrell, you get what you pay for, sturdy lightweight shoes which will perform for years. Have just worn the old ones out after 5 years

good shoes, especially a £40 off... but... Reviewed By Siarl Elis, 11 Nov 2012

At the moment I can't complain, the gore-tex seems to mean they run a little hotter than other Merrell shoes I have owned, no bad thing in these winter months... But they are plenty comfy! Also I can't really vouch for the shoes ability in the serious wet though they have been fine in the rain we have had in the last few weeks. Overall, well pleased especially if they last as long as my other few pairs of Merrell daps!

what more do you want? Reviewed By theo, 25 Sep 2012

wider fitting so great for my stubby feet.Plenty of support with a siffer sole than most other competting shoes so ideal for real 'walking' rather than posing to the shops or pub. Lightweight and waterproof to boot , what more do you want?

Fantastic as always Reviewed By Jamie, 24 Jun 2012

Another great shoe from Merrel. Had these for about 6 months and still going strong. Still waterproof and looking good and I wear them all of the time.

Very Decieving Reviewed By , 03 Sep 2011

For this price they are terrible shoes.
Make my feet feel like I have fallen arches which I don't.
Only had them four weeks and in that time they have gone from feeling great in the shop to making my feet and legs ache after only half an hour. Need to take them back to Cotswold Droitwich from where I got them and go to North Face Hedgehogs which I had before and which were brilliant for years.

Good Shoes Reviewed By Brian, 21 Apr 2011

Changed from the slams to these for waterproofing, they have been a good shoe during the months Novemeber to March and have proved their worth in tropical Australia and here in the UK. Comfortable good grip and waterproof.

Most recent of many Merrells. Sadly disappointed. Reviewed By Alistair, 01 Apr 2011

I bought these new and even more pricey Merrells about 7 months ago. I have loved my previous ones and alway wear them till they drop to bits. Usually this takes a year to 18 months. These have given up the ghost after only 5 months.
Straight off they weren't nearly so water-proof as the merrells I've owned before, letting in water when walking on wet days. Also they didn't seem to offer as much grip or support as previous models.
Overall very disappointing and I think I might move away from the brand and head for a cheaper but hopefully better option.
