I have been needing a duffle bag for ages, but was always tied between the mountain equipment duffles and the much pricier north face equivalent.
My requirements were simple, I needed a bag which was durable and versatile enough to meet the needs for kayaking gear, climbing gear, ski trips and camping equipment.
70litres seemed to fit the bill, but now the dilemma between the two brands. I began my research on forums, where there seem to be much discussion on this topic, with both bags having pros and cons. For me the NF bag has the added refinement that makes it look slightly better, but really wasn't worth the extra cash. Both bags seem to get a dazzling review for durability in all climates across the world.
However the final straw for deciding to choose the mountain equipment over TNF was when my friend chose to buy one of each, so we started to really look at each bag in detail. Even after this scrutinising we weren't any further on.
So conclusion here is, both bags are fantastic, and if you want to fork out the extra cash for TNF logo, then be my guest
I take my 70l mountain equipment bag everywhere and anywhere and its brilliant!!
