The Kestrel 38 is a fantastic all-round daypack for climbers, walkers, mountaineers and, for lovers of ultralight kit, a great overnight pack too.

With enough space to swallow spare clothing, food, drink, and the rest of your hill essentials (and maybe some of your family's extras too), the Kestrel 38's well positioned compression straps also allow you to cinch it in when you're carrying a lighter load. A large main compartment, pocket in the lid and zipped entry at the base is a layout normally found on much larger bags but is just as useful on a big daypack: keep your kit well organised but get down to the bottom without having to unpack first!

Great practical sized bag.

This rucsac is ideal for anyone wanting a day sac to also use to one night wild camping trips, with the ability to fit all the stuff you need for an overnight trip (if you pack lightly).
It has two ice axes loops and the on-the-go pole stow is very useful.
It is comfortable but not too rigid and therefore good for climbing or scrambling.
The bottom compartment is ideal for a sleeping bag or emergency warm clothing and the loops on the outside of this section mean that you can fit a sleeping mat to the outside.
One of my favourite things about this bag are the pockets on the waist strap - a good place to keep things like a camera and gloves and hat so they are accessible when you need them.
Although it is an expensive bag you get what you pay for and it certainly makes life a little easier out on the mountains.
