Superb Reviewed By Gareth, 21 Aug 2012

I purchased this pack after trying on a number in store, including other Osprey's.

The fit is first class and it's light as a feather. Great size, especially if you pack light. Materials seem super durable and after several treks and lots of miles there is no sign of ware. The pockt arrangement suits me very well; the bottom section is great for getting the sleeping back out quickly and the hydration compartment is easy to use (using an Osprey bladder) even when the bag is jammed full.

When on and full, the pack sits very nicely. Tight to the boddy so no wobbling at all, but still breathes well on a hot long trek.

Osprey have a great reputation and I must say it is well earned. I have 6 months post bought a smaller day pack for lighter loads and went straight for Osprey again.

I would definately suggest that you try on in store as it is important to make sure it fits properly and the Cotswolds team will both adjust fo you and give great advice on how to pack correctly.

Tougher than expected!!! Reviewed By Stuart, 05 Jul 2012

I try to be as thorough as possible when writing reviews, because I know how helpful they are when reviewers are honest and have genuine experience of the product in hand.

I bought the osprey talon 44 rucksack for a month long backpacking expedition around Italy and France with my girlfriend. I had looked at around 10 similar bags that had a good review, but what I loved was that the talon was so light and spacious without being overly fussy, with lots and lots of pockets.
However my real concern was that the talon would be too light and not durable enough to withstand the abuse of airports, buses, trains etc, but I was pleasantly surprised. For the full month the bag was crammed full of compression bags, a two man tent, cooking equipment, clothes, mats etc and didn't skip a beat. While travelling I carried the 44litre talon while my girlfriend carried a smaller and lighter unnamed 25litre rucksack. After a few days of this through 30-40degree heat we switched bags as the shoulder straps were hurting my girlfriends shoulders. She couldn't believe how comfortable the rucksack was compared to the much lighter rucksack, and continued to carry it for the rest of the trip.
So to conclude you definitely pay for what you get. Im planning an everest base camp trip next summer, and I'm glad to say my talon will be coming with me :D

Light and spacious - my favourite one Reviewed By Rima, 07 May 2012

I bought this bag for a weekend trip to Scottish isles. Girl in shop recommended it for being light and that I can take is as daysack (just by adjusting straps). That was fantastic bag. All those small pockets were good when you need to keep something easily reachable. Because I didn't take sleeping bag (last minute change of plan and booking hostels) I had plenty of empty space. Front pocket was good for keeping my fleece handy. However I found couple of minuses in this bag too. Although compression straps can go under (inside) side pockets I sometimes found it a bit hard to take out and put back in my water bottle into pocket (and even iPhone). Top mesh pocket as advertised to be used for map was too small for it. But it served well as first aid kit pocket. I love this bag anyways. It's big enough for 3 or 4 days (I tend to pack a lot :) )... And oh another brilliant thing was loop for walking poles. I could take them out and pack them back on the go (without taking bag off)

Brilliant bag Reviewed By Ben, 30 Jan 2012

I brought this bag for a long weekend walking trip in Scotland and it performed superbly. The size of the bag was excellent with plenty of room for all of the essential gear and it was a comfortable to carry up the hills. A Brilliant all-round bag that has lived up to ospreys reputation.

Another Fantastic Bag! Reviewed By Jolene, 10 Jul 2011

I purchased the Talon 33 & Ariel 65 in 2010 for an expedition to Costa Rica and both bags were excellent. The 33 was not quite big enough for 7 day trips but the 65 was too big so I purchased the 44! Another lightweight bag with fabric allowing you to squeeze kit into every little bit of space...comfortable to wear and durable. I will be looking for a reason to purchase the Talon 22 in the future :-)

comfortable and practical day sack Reviewed By , 31 May 2011

Bought this for day hikng in the UK and for Kilimajaro later this year. Early impressions extremly positive - very lightweight and with excellent adjustment for a comfortable fit. Recommended to me by a friend for being well made and hard-wering. Good price for a quality product.
