The Neutrino Endurance is a lightweight, fully featured and very warm down jacket designed primarily for climbing and mountain use.   The Neutrino Endurance has become the benchmark down jacket for modern mountaineering and lightweight ascents. The Pertex Endurance outer provides durable protection against storm and spindrift while retaining minimal weight and packsize. High lofting is provided by the 225g (size L) of 800 fill pure European goose down.   The Neutrino Endurance is one of those jackets that just does everything you need it to - a firm favourite among professional mountain athletes and an ideal piece for UK and Alpine winter conditions. Just as much at home on a hill walk in the Peak District as it is on a Himalayan Peak, it's often found at winter fell race finish lines or on your 'spotter' when going for the crux on a new boulder problem.

This is a story all about how my life got flipped, turned upside down.
I’d like to take a minute just sit right there, I’ll tell you how I became the man with no fear of cold air.
 
In Northern Manchester, born and raised. In the Mountains is where I spend most of my days. Chilling up Snowdon where the air is quite cool, taking D of E groups out with the school.
For a couple of days the weather was up to no good, I started getting cold, though I’d put up my hood. I got one little cold and my Mum got scared she said "You need a nice warm jacket like that Rab one there!”

I whistled to a shop assistant and when he came near, his name badge said ‘Dave’ and he seemed nice and had a beard. I wondered if the price would be too much to bear but I thought "Nah, forget it. Yo Homes, to the down jacket department"

I walked up to a rack in aisle 7 or 8 and said to the assistant “Yo Homes I’ll take this one please.”
I put on the jacket, I was finally there. To sit on Helvellyn with no fear of cold air.

Fantastic Down Insulation Jacket Reviewed By Tom, 04 Apr 2013

This jacket has the feel and look of a classic top performance RAB jacket. I have tested it in the cold and damp conditions of a Scottish winter, through to summer evenings by the beach.

Pertex Endurance outer- it is clear that the outer material of this jacket will withstand a beating, and has endured heavy rain through to wet snow. Of course it is not waterproof, and living in the UK means that taking a down jacket out is at the owner's risk. With the threat of collapsing the down it is not great for the wet winters, but it will be sure to survive and excell in at least a shower,

Insulation- this is a very warm jacket. That is one of its major positives, yet I have found that in the UK I have over heated a lot in the jacket, and it is not ideal for active use.However, when it is very cold and dry, it is ideal and will guarantee the wearer to be warm! The downfall is that it can get too warm and so everyday use is limited.

Fit and cut- it is a good fitting jacket, with a low cut over the buttocks, and a helmet compatible hood. The pockets are well positioned and provide good storage space.

Other features- the jacket has draw cords on the hem, with Velcro cuffs and a draw cord around the hood. This allows for good adjusting of the jacket. The stuff sack provided allows good transport of the jacket, although I have found a waterproof sack works better.

Overall this is a very high performance down jacket, which balances excellent heat retaining features with light weight, good pack size and durable fabric. It is a very comfortable jacket and is equally at home mountaineering or walking to the pub.

I already owned the Neutrino gilet which is excellent. however I needed something a little warmer. I decided to stay with Rab because of the quality of the other pieces of thier range I have.
This is the best piece of outdoor clothing ever. The warmth it provides in all conditions is amazing. I bought this jacket for my military job. The other military reviewers are spot on. This jacket packs down smaller than other bits of warm kit, and keeps you a lot, lot warmer.
the jacket is so comfortable to wear, it is my everyday winter jacket now. Wind resistance is fantastic, and repels water well (although not waterproof). friends and colleagues have other brand down jackets and all of them wish they had bought the rab Neutrino. If your comparing with other jackets my advice is go for the Neutrino you wont be disappointed in the slightest. Superb jacket, well made, a pleasure to wear!

This jacket does exactly what it says on the lable. Keeps you warm on short walks and when you get up to temperature get the layer off. At the end of the walk slip it back on to retain heat. It also has the benefit of looking great and feels great as its so light. Neil

I bought this over a week ago to be delivered to BFPO. It arrived and I have been wearing at night constantly.
It is very lightweight and packs into the stuff sack nicely.
Packed size isn't an issue and it stores nicely into my daysack.
The Velcro tabs on the mean it seals nicely around gloves with ease. The hood is nice and warm and can roll away if not needed. It has a wire peak which enables it to keep its shape when up.
Other great features inc the waterproof zips and the high collie zip.
Having owned a North Face jacket for a few years I can't believe I never seen this one.

I bought this jacket as i wanted to stay cosy warm in all conditions and it hasn't let me down yet. I have even wore this jacket while christmas shopping and going from hot shops to freezing cold outside the jacket still performs to a very high standard and also as i am in the army i am taking this jacket to afghan with me in january where it will be freezing but the stuff bag it comes with means it will not clutter all my kit. THIS JACKET IS A MUST FOR THE MILITARY COMMUNITY

Bought one just befror christmas, Used it skying in Finland in jan 2012. Thempratures were down to -28, we went to watch the northern lights and had to stand for 2 hours to see them, I was toasty all the time. The coat is light, well made and will squash into a small bag (provided) I fell while snowboarding many times with no damage to the coat. A must buy for any one going to the arctic circle

I ordered this at the start of the year as I was off out to Canada to work, a lot of it being outdoors. Working at temperatures at sometimes down to minus 28 this jacket kept me warm and importantly alive. I really can't complain as it is superb with it being lightweight and packing down to a small size with the included stuff sack. I would seriously recommend this jacket to anyone looking.

i use my jacket to belay in on cold and windy belay or when i am out bouldering and trying to keep warm, its a superb jacket an recommended to anyone, packs down well if space is need elsewhere. only problem i have is if it get wet, it gets heavy! but easily dried out in front of an open fire. superb jacket from Rab once agian. :D

The British army are now becoming one of the worlds leaders in kit and equipment but one thing they have failed to bring to the all year all season infantryman is a good piece of warm kit to keep morale high as well as body temp. I first heard about down jackets when a friend started to wear a north face nup jacket so i asked him if i could trail it but found it was a little to big to pack in my patrol sack so i started to do a little research to only find what can only be described as "the only bit of morale on frezzing cold nights hitting -23 i have" It may put a dent in the wallet but i would never look back!!! Spent quiet some time thinking about this jacket. Travelling across europe and wanted something warm at low temperatures but compact and light.

Very glad I purchased it. Not only was it extremely lightweight but it was very warm. The hood was very useful having initially thought it would not be used. Pulling this up over my head really kept me warm.

An added bonus is the number of pockets. Not only are there quiet a few but they are large and I was able to keep passport in zipped inner pocket and gloves and small camera in outer; again zipped closed nicely.

Overall a great jacket and very happy I purchased it.

This jacket fits me really well, i can move freely without it feeling tight anyway!It's very comfy and most importantly it keeps me warm on the coldest of days even if I only have a t-shirt on underneath!!!!
