Great basic waterproof for crag, mountain and town

Reviewed By Menna, 22 Jul 2011

My other half bought me this for Christmas. It is one of Rab's more basic waterproofs, but this does not mean it is short of everything you would require and expect from a waterproof for the hills.
I have used mine for quick runs into town, long mountain days and lots of multi-pitch climbing. While the 2-layer e-vent fabric may not be the most durable on the market, but is very breathable - great for when you are exerting yourself.
The fit, as always with Rab, is well cut for females. And always looks flattering. And essentially for damp or wintery climbing days - the hood is helmet compatible. A great buy.

Rab jet jacket

Reviewed By Kimberly, 28 May 2011

very pleased with this jacket, and for the price i paid for for it, it was definitly a bargin. Being an eVent membrane fabric, it's waterproofness and breathability is hard to beat. The Jet is extremely light, so great for packing in a backpack, and the fabric is very soft to touch, it dosn't have that stiff, plastic feel, so it often doesn't feel like your actually wearing a waterproof coat. perhaps the one downside to the soft fabric is that it may make it less resistant to abraison, and easier to get torn if caught on anything rough or sharp. In addition to the features listed, the two chest pockets have a patch of mesh on the inside, allowing for additional ventilation; there's also a strip of mesh running along the insides of the sleeves, as well as the tafeta lining.
The hood is nice and large, and easily adjusted with the easy to use drawcords, and a volume adjuster at the back. The hood is attached to the jacket at the back, but is held on around the sides by strips of velcro, the second, outer storm flap also has velcro and press-stud fastenings, which makes the hood very neat and tidy looking, and a snug fit.
All in all a nice jacket, which looks good too.

eVent bargin

Reviewed By Kimberly, 25 May 2011

i mostly chose this jacket due to the offer price, but the jet is certainly attractive. i'm usually a size 10, which was the size i chose, though it does fit me, i found that it certainly is a snug fitting size around the body, though i have been able to fit two fleece midlayers under it.
the fabric is very soft to touch, though how well durable it stands up to wear and scrapes remains to be seen.
the wired peak hood can be rolled up and put inside the collar-which is in itself quite tall. though i did find putting th hood in the collar made it quite stiff around the neck. but otherwize pleased with it.
